In all fairness, it is also the one in Fort Worth that 200 folks from the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary promised to visit.

Baptists are the biggest nutjobs. Especially the Decatur ones at fbc. Very few there are actually the real deal. I bet they dont boycott local owned gay businesses when they need something.
What a stunt for money. Next week they change their position and invite all the gays in the world for MORE cash. Do these fools really think Chick-fil-A cares. ROFL
We will never all agree. However, having the right to express our beliefs is a right granted to everyone, not just those who feel oppressed. I am heterosexual, I have many friends who are homosexual; and I am no better person than they are, nor are they better than I. But we love and respect one another and would never condemn each other because our beliefs are different. God made me heterosexual, so why is it that God doesn't make some homosexual. I fully support Chik-f-la today, because of the man's and the business' right to state their beliefs. Those in attendance are also making their own beliefs known. When will this world wake up to the fact that we are all different, we will never all agree, but we DO live on this planet together, and so we must learn to live our life with those we feel comfortable being with, and those we do not agree with, or feel comfortable with may not be our closest friends, but we give them the space and the freedom to enjoy their life and their beliefs. Christians have every right to stand up for their religious beliefs! That is what today is all about. I don't see anyone stringing up homosexuals today for persecution and if anyone says that this "statement" today is hateful, well, that is complete ignorance and intolerance.
Is the brother in the center of the photo wearing the plaid shirt and raising his hand to his head thinking something like "C'mon lady get me my sandwich before one of these crackers breaks out a rope?"
Decatur FBC? Look at all the profit! Greed at it's best! Let's spread the hate! All those fag hating Christians making a fat cat richer and ruinng his chances of getting into Heaven
@12:06: They are WAY ahead of you. There is already at least one location of Chick-Fil-A sponsoring a Pride Parade: http://www.lgbtqnation.com/2012/08/chick-fil-a-franchise-to-co-sponsor-new-hampshire-lgbt-pride-event/
It's genius, or at least capitalist. Folks like 12:48 will equate cheap chicken with their faith (?) and eagerly stand in line to prove they're Christian.
And I'm sure the LGBT activist groups have raised plenty of money off of it.
I could care less about the gay marriage issue. I do support the CEO's right to free speech and oppose the city of Boston and Chicago not letting them expand because of his views. I thought the liberal weenies were for job creation but I guess not. I hope all the weenies in Chicago kill each other off with their strict gun control and being proud to be the murder capital of the world. Rahm Emanuel is getting what he deserves.
Well, I see that the gays are thoroughly confused by their own lack of salvation to the point where they feel it necessary to defame and trivialize spirituality, especially Baptists. This is a huge tactical error on their part. I do not believe the gay will gain acceptance or equal footing with non-deviants. Perhaps in the eyes of the state, but never with society at large. Is it a hate crime for me to say this?
I only went to Chik-Fil-A today not so much to take a stand against gays, as much as I went to tell the media to screw off.
I personally think gay marriage should be a state by state issue.......but I also think it's wrong for the supposedly "objective" media to take sides with one group of people and try to bully a company out of business just because CFA's views don't reflect their own.
I think most people went today because they feel the same way.
This is just dumb. I like CFA's food, I appreciate their Christian values, the fact that they are closed on Sunday, and the values that they teach to their employees, but I hate the fact that they have become the latest tool in the culture wars. Time will show that they accomplished more good by their quiet witness than when they became politicized.
Cathy can think what he wants--it's a family owned business. But the crazy right-wingers are completely two-faced in the marriage department. This is the party that wanted Newt Gingrich to lead their "pro-Christian marriage" campaign. Hilariously (or like Katy says, tragically) funny.
However, I support the nut jobs in their statement, too. I haven't bought a Levi's product in decades, since the CEO of Levi's gave money to lawyers to fund the lawsuit of a boy scout who had been kicked out of the scouts for being gay. The kid can be gay, but the private organization (although they do take some federal funds...) can determine its membership, and Levi's can pay the price for a political stance. No real winners, but we're all standing by our beliefs, and there is some victory in that.
Liberal politicians and their media lapdogs targeted and tried to punish an American for expressing his beliefs (note that Mr. Cathey has taken no actions against anyone other than speaking.) Why shouldn't those who support his rights demonstrate that he (and his business and employees) don't stand alone?
1:55 Got it right. As happened with the Tea Party, Liberals have managed to mobilize a huge segment of Americans who are not your typical activists.
Shopping malls owned by a huge developer, I think it was Simmons Properties, changed their lease agreements to force all stores in the food court to open on Sunday. Chick fil-a refused, did not renew their lease and closed all stores under this requirement. Sounds to me like a company more dedicated to their convictions than profits.
The story would NOT have been politicized ANYWHERE if it wasn't for a bunch of looney lefties who got their knickers in a wad over a man stating that he believes in traditional families/marriage.
Some of you are missing the point. It's not that Cathy isn't personally allowed to have his beliefs, nobody is arguing that. It's not that he and the rest of his family claim to be Christian and claim to promote their version of Christian values. What the homosexual community is upset about is that CFA, the business, has spent over $5 Million in the last year or so to try to politically defeat rights for gay people.
That's not only gay marriage, that's equality for gays in the workplace and other rights too. In 29 States it is legal to fire someone solely because they are gay.
Spending $5M on political actions is free speech, but it's also loud speech and they should not be surprised that it has repercussions. Only time will tell if Cathy's political statements will help or hurt CFA.
Cathy said this on a RADIO show. It's not like he didn't know he was being broadcast. From the Washington Post -
Dan Cathy, president of the popular fast food chain Chick-fil-A saying on a radio show that “we’re inviting God’s judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at him and say we know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage. And I pray God’s mercy on our generation that has such a prideful, arrogant attitude that thinks we have the audacity to redefine what marriage is all about.”
Following backlash after those remarks, Cathy then told the Baptist Press in an article posted July 16 that he is “guilty as charged” and is very “supportive of the family — the biblical definition of the family unit.”
End of Washington Post part -
I never understand cherry-pickers of the Bible. So why are women cutting their hair, men are cutting their beards, people are divorcing, etc?... you get the idea
People are talking about a chicken fast food joint and not about unemployment and deficits. I call that a distraction that the democrats desperately want right now. At the end of the day, nothing will be accomplished except chicken sandwiches will or will not be sold..
If they classified homosexuality as a mental, genetic or whatever disorder as it should be because people are born that way then you couldn't be fired.
@3:53: I'm not much of an expert on civil rights activism, but it seems like your incest movement might not be ready for a full-fledged boycott yet.
LGBT folks had 40+ years of activism, plus a well-organized network of people and some political and economic clout before they tried it.
Really dedicate yourself to it, and then someday, if you are really committed to incest that deeply (and if other people are too), maybe you'll make a little headway.
Son, you need to mobilize your fat ass and give your easy chair a break......If you don't, neither one of you will survive much longer. And, quit hiding behind that smarmy, pipe-smoking avatar.
Whataburger will announce tomorrow that they support the Impeach Obammy movement. They are expecting such huge crowds that they are hiring off duty police for crowd control.
Do all the people supporting Chic-Fil-A's stance on "The biblical defintion" realise what the CEO means? I'm pretty sure if people took a deeper look at what he actually said, they wouldn't be so quick to back his opinion. He wasn't just slamming gays. It extends beyond that. Rape victims should be forced to marry their attackers (after a 50 sheckle fine to their Daddy) under "the biblical definition of the family unit".
Feel free to choose which parts of the Bible you want to cherrypick to fit your agenda. If you happen to make an extra buck or two off of it in the process, I'm sure Jesus has no problems with it.

I'm confused by the people protesting against Chick-Fa-La. Are THEY against traditional families and/or marriage?

200 Baptists in Texas....egad! So?
Next time I start to wonder about the level of political discussion in this country, I need to go back and remember the Chick-Fil-A story.
Both sides of it.
It's almost unbelievable. Almost...
Is the brother in the center of the photo wearing the plaid shirt and raising his hand to his head thinking something like "C'mon lady get me my sandwich before one of these crackers breaks out a rope?"
I hate their chicken.
But I wanted to go to the one in Dallas just to show the Atheists that the country is primarily theist.
I couldn't even get in line. It was too packed.
Decatur FBC? Look at all the profit! Greed at it's best! Let's spread the hate! All those fag hating Christians making a fat cat richer and ruinng his chances of getting into Heaven
12:06 Of course they don't. They have more class than that.

12:06- I completely agree. Nothing a billionaire does is just for, "His own beliefs". He always looks at the numbers beforehand.
12:52 What about the traditional family/marriage hating people that are picketing Chick-Fa-La?
Since when is a traditional family political Katy?
The gays made this political by showing their hatred for the traditional family. Chick-Fa-La said nothing against the gays and you know it.
The people who are eating there are supporting the attacks made by gays.
I only went to Chik-Fil-A today not so much to take a stand against gays, as much as I went to tell the media to screw off.

ban free friken speech!! dammit to hell
A sleeping giant has been wakened. Mr. Obama- the great uniter (of the other side).
When Lib's unite, its a GREAT thing!
When conservatives unite, we are fanatics and crazies and not worthy of anything but ridicule from the lib haters.
@1:31: I'm sorry if my words were unclear: The STORY has been politicized.
By both sides.

I just got a high score in the Count The White Republicans game!
I understand the gays are going to do a kiss in @ chic-fil-a......exactly what will they be kissing.....just sayin
1:59
No, when conservatives unite they just act like self rightous nerds.
Praise Allah!

i did not have sexual relations with that woman, ms lewinsky.
The left started this and the right will prevail.
I like my Chick-Fil-A with extra self righteousness and a slice of bigotry. I'd ask them to hold the pickle, but that just sounds gay.
Gays Suck!
oops but i guess ya'll know that.
aka the back door intruder
You know, one side that hasn't been politicized is the one that want to marry their sister.
I want to marry my sister but I don't know who to boycott.
Katy, do you have any suggestions?
Love seeing these good folks stand up for freedom !!!
I heard Gays were going to open their own restaurants called Gays-Fil-A...you figure what the "A" stands for.
Dear Christian Right,
I hate to be the one to tell you this, but the war over same sex marriage is already over, and you lost.
Your friend,
Reality
I heard Gays are COMING out with a new idea called the Hammock Sandwich.
Strange how one side wants civil rights but when someone delivers an opinion they disagree with they scream fowl.
Intended.
Why do Gays always wanna ram their lifestyles up our Butts?
2:52 - Well-said. That's exactly the point.
1:01. I have seen your members supporting them so stfu!
3:15 what radio show was that because the Washington Compost at times is not reliable.
I work next door to the one in Alliance, and it was the same and also drove by the one in Denton on University, same way
Just sayin....
Gays don't hate traditional marriage. Show me proof where gays said heterosexuals shouldn't get married. They just want the right to get married too.
What biblical marriage is this guy referring too? I like King Solomon's version, 700 wives and 300 concubines.
The Decatur FBC is the biggest supporter og gay rights. They shop at Wal * Mart.

It was fine then wasn't it?
