Some kid from Coppell apparently won the award for Worst National Anthem In The History of Ever. It's the dreaded combo of off key and long and drawn out. (And whoever is handling her -- I'm guessing parents -- takes her craft very seriously.)

OMG, that was horrible. Somebody needs to tell her whites cannot sing like blacks! How embarrassing! I know the crowd was happy it was freaking over...this was totally disrespectful of our country!
Those unfortunate fans were there already expecting to sit through a long game where not much of note happens, and they get this thrown at them right from the get-go!? And all those furriners - players and spectators - are probably thinking "Our poor country can afford only three notes for our anthem, and it sounds much better than that!" I don't know about the off-key business, but it did take her waaaaaaaay too long! She (or somebody) needs to understand that the national anthem is not a vehicle for auditioning one's talents. It's doubtful she'll get asked to do that again - by anyone. There are about a gazillion shows on TV where they would be glad to assess your singing skills. Find one!

WOW that SUCKED!! I clapped when it was over too! I am sure it is some overindulged child whose parents had to buy this opportunity for her. I hope she's better at anything else, otherwise we get to laugh at her on some stupid reality show.
The comments all over the web from this might be the only time she's received criticism. I hate it for the kid since she's probably never had a reality check and her parents, friends and family have always told her how great she is. Tough way to find out you're not so good.
My question is what the heck happened in the vetting process over at FC Dallas. The PR person that allowed this to happen should be fired. A nationally televised game on NBC Sports and this is how you start the game.

Thank God I'm not the only one to think that! I can't stand it when someone tricks up the national anthem. The song is about our nation, not about "Look at me". The absolute worst at that was Whitney Houston.
Oh, 9:49, there are stars with much less talent than Taylor Swift hauling in the big bucks and filling stadiums. At least she writes her own material ... or that one song about some guy she wants who likes another girl which she has recycled about a zillion times. Ok I talked myself into agreeing with you.
Sounds as if her own family is admitting that she didn't do so well, since they're trying to lay the blame somewhere else. How about that, David? Would you like to call them out, too?
For the record, I never said she couldn't sing. If she had sung it at regular time - about half what she did there - it probably would have sounded okay
I bet if she hadn't tried to trick it up and had picked up the tempo(a lot) she would have been ok for a girl her age singing in front of thousands of people.
Whitney Houston's rendition was quite moving and actually won a poll last year of the best rendition of all time, she edged out the Jimi Hendrix performance at Woodstock.
Now Christina Aguilera, on the other hand, should have whipped out her vuvuzela to save that fiasco.
I am beginning to think she sang poorly as a publicity stunt...they did appear on morning shows afterward that they might not have otherwise and showed her singing much better...ummm

Wow...that's horrible. Toddler and Tiara in the making
This poor girl shouldn't have been put through this emabarresment come on parents.
Pitiful !!!

Another Taylor Swift in the making!
Take a kid who can't really sing, but has the advantage of having parents with the money to spend to get them a contract, you have Taylor Swift.
This kid (and her parents) must think that she will be the next Taylor Swift!
that was so great she should get a medal
wow that was really bad

Wow, who told this child she could sing good?
Briliiant point above. No way she's prepared for the criticism she's receiving...

Anonymous cowards criticizing an 11 year old girl.
Another miserable Monday, losers?
Well, wasn't that special.

Her website says she has a "show" coming up if you want to listen to more of that.
I watched about 1.5 seconds of her singing and about 23 seconds in total. I. Want. That. Time. Back.
How could she get so horrible so quickly?
Just saw somewhere else where the family was interviewed this morning. They are blaming her singing on vuvuzelas blowing at the game.
Funny thing, though, is that the video shows no proof of any of them blowing during the anthem!

Why is she shaking her head and squinting like she's really doing something?

I'd be singing funny too if someone was blowing on my vuvuzela!

But as it was presented, it was terrrrrble.

I noticed some of the kids hearts must be on the right side now.
Fingernails.Chalkboard. Uggh.
The singing wasn't all that bad, it was just too slow. Way too slow.
Wtf was that!?? Way to butcher our national anthem you stupid spoiled little brat.
I think that the all-time greatest rendition of the national anthem was done by Lyle Lovett a couple of years ago during the World Series.
Thanks, now I can say I've been ear raped.
