The headlines involving this story are so misleading. This guy wasn't unarmed and running away from the officer as many want us to believe. He was carrying a concealed handgun (illegally I assume), lied about it, and then struggled to get away from the officer. As a result, he was shot in the back at very close range by an officer who feared for his life.

Great question. Let's break it down.
1) when pulled over inform officer immediately that you are carrying a concealed gun and that "I will not move my hands until you tell me". 2) don't smell like weed. 3) say "yes sir" and "no sir" to show the cop you have nothing to hide. 4) cooperate. The officer will always thank you.
What not to do... 1) not cooperate. 2) be a smart butt. 3) make the officer ask "do you have any weapons on you?" 4) not listen. 5) run. 6) smell like weed. 7) be out drinking with your homies at night while driving.
I got stopped the other night and was asked by the officer if I had anything in the truck he should know about. I replied that there was a 9mm in the console and they had permission to retrieve it. They did. We all chatted politely and I was sent on my way, gun in hand. At no point was I shot. I guess that's just cause I'm white. Right?
Wow, another instance were a stupid, fat, white cop "proves" his manhood by shooting a black kid in the back. I've known plenty of cops over the years, and didn't think any of them were qualified to carry a water pistol, much less a real weapon.
I'm sure all the morons that make comments here can't say enough great things about this "heroic" consumer of tax money and donuts.
That's only a start on what we really need. We need for multitudes more of unproductive, problematic scum to be eliminated from society. I don't advocate that they all be black, but mathematically a large percentage of them would be.
If the police do the culling, good on them. If they don't, it's going to fall on the rest of us, sooner or later.
It seems that the african american race tends to glorify these guys when they get into trouble. But when they get killed for causing trouble they cannot understand how their angel could have been killed because he woukd never do no wrong it is just the white man keeping them down!

I've known a lot of cops too. You couldn't pay me enough to do their job. Mainly because of anuses like yourself who have no idea what cops have to deal with.

There are too few feel good stories lately.. The officer encountered a criminal with a gun and he walked away. That makes me feel good.
