On the bright side, if they all were shooting golfs, we might be the best county for golfs in the whole goll darn state.

That's what happens when all the steroid users graduates! And we need turf for what? To look pretty when we loose?

The 26th and stll no comments posted. I'll be the first to ask, how much $$$ does the Wise community "invest" in fields, stadiums, equipment and coaches? What bonds are they trying to pass this year for a losing male only extra curricular activity? Don't bother looking it up it'll just piss the tax payers off.

Please think before you start bashing these kids! They all work very hard, they all gave 110%.
They all wanted to WIN! Remember, they are kids, they don't get paid, so it is suppose to be FUN! I enjoyed the game last night, my team didn't win, but they gave it their all and I am proud of them!

They are just kids Morons, it's the parents and coaches who f#$% all the fun up. I promise 90% of the parents went home and throttled their kids on their performances.

In Decaturs' case, they are reaping what they have sown. There is a reason other than injuries that the team went from 65 kids at the first of the season to 48 kids at the end of the season last year. And then begin this year with only 45 kids. You cannot keep kids interested in a program where the kids are not treated equally. When favoritism and politics raise their ugly head the wheels start coming off soon. That's what is happening.

Finally saw paradise play football for two quarters.......they were down 42-7 at half......I guess our coaches chewed some but....we came out the second half returned the kickoff for a TD. Made it 42 to 35 ....they didnt have enough to finish it though.......If our boys play like that we will make some noise in district. We get several starters back this week....keep it up boys...YOU CAN DO IT

yeah, coming from a wise county football player, to all the adults of wise county bashing us: SCREW YOU!!! i'd like to c your old ass get out there and do better. its called scheduling hard teams in non-district to get ready for district, damn retards
barry, sry for the language but plz post this

The county is down in football for sure this year.

Anonymous said...

Maybe all this boo hoo over non wins will send a message to the schools - more EDUCATION, and less FOOTBALL.

I agree with 10:54 - it's about supporting the kids and them having fun. I'm proud of them too, including the cheerleaders and band.

You know when the season started they were saying Boyd was supposed to be very similar to the 2004 state champion team but I think Boyd is the worst they have been in a long time. Coach Cartwright needs to come up with a different playbook. Everyone knows his play book and thats why other teams are stopping them. PLUS it doesnt help when you run the same play over and over. If I were a team playing Boyd all you have to do is stack the defensive line and man on man coverage on the recievers, Boyd would never score a single point all game.

Anonymous said...

Chico might be able to beat B'port and Decatur this year.

Anonymous said...

Lookes like Paradise lost the least worst (if that is grammatically correct)! Oh well, Decatur can cheer on their volleyball and cross country teams!

Vote absolutely NO to the Decatur bond package. IF they were wise, they'd take OUT anything that has to do with the stadium. I'll say again, that stadium isn't that old and it works JUST FINE for the few games it sees per year. Vote No, Hell No, and forever NO....until they realize we are NOT paying for stadium/athletic upgrades that are NOT NEEDED!

What would school boards be doing if these were TAKS scores?

The same: buying artificial turf and building indoor practice fields.

It's interesting that lately the stats for the Bridgeport games aren't available. That's never been a problem before. Is it an attempt to conceal the turnover information?

I remember how much "fun" it was playing hs football. Getting chewed out by coaches, taking a beating at workouts, especially after losing a game, and especially being dubbed a scrub as referred to by coaches for the second string, having star players being snobby to lesser players, two a days, Eagle drill, balance and recall drill with Peyton in the lineup, running sprints the rest of the year and working out football drills in sweats so it would be legal, learning the hard way what the receiving end of a forearm whack is, and having to repeat the sprints if coach thought you slacked,.. Ahh, those were the days. What fun.

OK, I'll ask the question - Does Bridgeport have the best quarterback on the field? Has the coach tailored this season only for him at the expense of the team? Just askin'.

You were wrong BuBear! TCU just won 14-10! Go Frogs!! 3-0!!

Anonymous said...

im going to stick up for bport... it is hard to become a great team whenever 32 seniors graduate from a team that was 12-1. 90% of the offense graduated last year. give them a break they will be there dont you guys worry onve that qb gets his feet under him and gets confidence they will be good.....

lets get that district championsip for a 3rd year in a row

Barry, why don't you lay off a bunch of kids? I realize you never had kids and probably never will, but it's a slap in the face to them. Pick on somebody your own size.

Instead of wondering which school in the county will be the first to install artificial turf, I think we should start wondering which school will be the first to dump its lousy head coach or AD and hire new blood that will set the school back on the winning track again!??? Wonder which it will be? Decatur? B'port? Boyd?
any bets?

"I wish you morons, that like to bash when you blog, would learn how to spell. It's hard to read for people that actually can spell."

Since you are the Spelling Police, I am the Grammar Police.

Your first error is the placement of a comma after the word, "moron." There are seven reasons to use a comma. None apply to the placement of your comma. Your second error is using "that" instead of "who." That and which refer to groups or things. Who refers to people.
Your sentence SHOULD read as follows, "I wish you morons who like to bash when you blog, would learn how to spell. It's hard to read your messages."

Grammar Police alert! Whatcha gonna do, whatcha gonna do when that who come, fo' yous.

I do believe these boys are keeping there heads up...up their arses. We want turf, we want turf, we want turf, everyone join in, we want turf, we want turf, we want turf, come on y'all, we want turf. What do we want? TURF. What do we need? TURF. How much more money can we waste and for what? Oh wait, it's because they don't have turf is why they lost. Got it.

Anonymous said...

B'ports QB is good for at least 3 turnovers a game. I kinda feel sorry for him because his dad puts everything on him without any help at the Rb position. Let Garrett Mullins run the ball to take some pressure off your son. There is talent on the field but Henson does not have them in the right spots.

9:10 ... SHUT UP ANNOYMZCHREEP !!!

Not the kids fault. Coaches! Story runs the same play every single time and they deck em every single time. Over and over same plays. Wake up! Time to move on, Eagle Football needs new blood. Probably never going to happen. Too much family connection and favorite players.
I agree with M-M...So many kids quit before it even started this year. Lost some talented kids. Don't forget to vote! Bond election coming up.

One thing about it the Chico coaches have nothing to worry about, they have been losing for years and they still get paid and Pete Hart will get another raise and contract extension. HELL OF A DEAL.
thats like showing up for work day after day and not getting any results and the company still keeps ya and pays ya. HELL OF A DEAL

So, will the football team start practicing on the turf at the stadium or will they get turf at the practice field, too?

Anonymous said...

At least one wise county team will make the playoffs. Paradise, Boyd, Alvord, and Chico are in the same six team district and three teams make the playoffs. If would be mathematically impossible for one of them not to make it.

Anonymous said...

Personally I'm tired of listening to Bridgeport teenagers complaining about the coaches son and how badly he sucks. I wish the Henson family was Bridgeport History and we had new coaching blood in B-town.

I will not Vote for the turf deal.
They need to go back to the old BLUE & White and stop all the face painting and just play football!

I like Coach Story but why are the decatur boys quitting football. Is it because we aren't winning anymore? No team always wins. If that is the reason then that is a parenting problem. Alot of other sports don't win but the players still play because they like the sport. I just don't understand what is happening.

Anonymous said...

This should help the voters to decide if they need new facilities and turf keep up the good work.

cottondale pigboys rule!!!

Henson needs to give some of the "other guys" a chance instead of his favorites and family members. Some one had to replace all those seniors that gradutated, but he won't give them a chance. They paid their time on JV the past three years-let them play!!

Anonymous said...

To all of you bloggers who are such bad mentors to your kids...get a clue! Maybe they hear way too much negativity at home from their parents about putting the fault on coaches, other players...i believe alot of the blame should be placed on a LOT of the parents! Shame on yall. You are the ones who need to be encouraging them, not whining about why they can't win! Tsk Tsk! Yall should all be ashamed...

Anonymous said...

from a player who is choached by story: we have only had maybe 3 or 4 kids quit this year and none of them had any talent that would have made a difference this year so far. whether we are winning pr losing, coach story is an amazing coach regardless of what the community and media says. he instills great values and morals in us before we even get started on football, he teaches us that God comes first before anything else, then family and friends, then football. him, along with the rest of the coaching staff is all around amazing so give em a break and watch us win in district

Anonymous said...

ITS NOT THE KIDS AND BAD ATTITUDES THIS YEAR THEY DO WORK HARD. ITS THE COACHES AND THE PARENTS THAT WANT TO BE COACHES.STOP THE DADDY BALL INSANITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

M-M said...

That's just the ones who quit this year so far. What about the ones that quit from the end of last season to the beginning of this season? What about the ones that quit during the season last year? What about all of them that have quit over the last three years? If there is a successful program going on and the coaches treat everyone equally, then you have kids flocking to come be a part of such a successful program. If not, your numbers start dropping, you start losing, there is discord amongst the players, you start having to play kids both ways more than usual etc.

Anonymous said...

Hey Coach, Can I wear the headset just once, pretty please?

-Double Fake Principal Cochran

Anonymous said...

no, the reason those kids quit is because they either just didnt like football or they are just quitters. and if they wanna quit, have at it, we dont want or need quitters on our team....Story DOES NOT pick favorites and look at the past 10 years that he was been here. THIS IS A WINNING PROGRAM!!!

Anonymous said...

Please, 10:27, do state the record of wins -vs- losses for the past 10 years for Decatur High School. I'd love to see that posted here!

Put up, or.....well, you know the rest.

Anonymous said...

11:00AM-------this is for u, decaturs regular season record for the past 10 years is 73 wins and 27 losses.....ummmmm???? that sure does sound like a winning program to me!!!! keep your mouth shut next time before u know the facts

M-M said...

11:51 pm I will cite just one example of favoritism with some background. Coach Story's history here has been to very seldom allow sophomores to dress, let alone let them play varsity. Last season he has 65 players dressing for varsity and he brings up the Haney kid who is a freshman and who not only dresses varsity but starts as a linebacker. There are a bunch of kids who are juniors and seniors who are bigger, stronger and more experienced at that position than him. WHY? Same thing with the Parker kid. Are you going to tell me that before he was finally disciplined that Tim Metts didn't get away with all kinds of crap like talking back to the coaches etc. that no other kids could of gotten away with? Open your eyes man.

Anonymous said...

8:55-first of all, the reason they moved haney up is because he might not have had more experience but yes, at that time he was an over all better linebacker than any juniors or seniors and he was the best person for the job at the time. it has nothing to do with favorites. and with the metts situation, he was not given any special treatment whatsoever. we followed the exact same policy with him than we would have with any other player. that is why he is now playin in Bowie!

Anonymous said...

11:51, here's one for you:

ONE AND DONE!!!!

sound familiar?? or are you intelligent enough to know what that even means?

( one game into playoffs, and DONE)
