I think this is a great header graphic!
You should have people design the new logo and submit it. Then post them so people can choose.
I think putting the speedo man up there as a joke is ugly. Especially when you are careful about people's feelings.

The current logo is far more representative of the content in your blog than the logo you are proposing. If you really feel obligated to have shadowy figures of exotic dancers in your logo, replace the cloud background of your current logo with the stripper layer in the proposed logo and then you will have that little touch of trash in your logo to represent the daily sleazy chick photos.
What about the cougar chick silhouette?

Not a bad logo but I'd leave out the shadowy chicks and replace them with sports figures (since the blog owner is absorbed in those) and leave Speedo in.......
....a good graphics artist might toss the composition about a bit more.

Speedo Man, and the DQ sign are what make up the quirkyness of our lovely county. And the courthouse of course represents where you spend your days. For someone to stumble on to the blog, the old header would be more interging than the new one. For those who do not like Speedoman, he IS part of our lovely county. Gee, weather is warming up, grass is tall. Maybe he will be out mowing soon
I like the "farm road" sign. Nice touch but if I had to choose between new and old, I like old best.

the logo designer obviously didn't put much effort into the design - left out "the humble confines of" in the title. what a tool.
I like the current logo better (nothing against the girls though), but I also like the idea of adding the Decatur beggar to it ; ) Perhaps you could add him in to the current logo in front of the courthouse somehow... And the speedo man has got to stay! He just sums up SOOO much in sooo little, lol!

Speedo Man captures the essence of your blog much better than those girly profiles.
