Browsing Through THe Bridgeport Index

A faithful reader was roaming around the Bridgeport Index archives and found this blurb. It's actually from a 1974 issue that was reflecting upon what was in a 1960 issue of the Index.

My first question is, what the hell is a spelling number? Must be a Brideport thing.

Wise County rednecks have still not grown into the 21st century. Regrettably this prejudicial commentary is still prevalent and condoned. A pity.
