Gotta Run To Fort Worth

But I think I'll take the scenic route through Saginaw because of this. Sounds nasty.

Another Rock Hauler killing another motorist. Whats the chance of that?

When is something going to be done? Whos kid gotta die first? They start making the company involved pay millions maybe then something can be done.

You know, it has gone full circle. I grew up riding with my father to Fort Worth "the old way" (through Saginaw and across the Trinity Bridge up to the Courthouse). Then along came the 81/287 Bypass to I35. Now, if it is morning or afternoon rush hour (or there's a wreck), you can actually get to downtown Fort Worth and thereabouts quicker back through Saginaw!! Brings back old memories.

Maybe I should change my stripper last name to rock hauler highway of death.

I say we outlaw rocks.

I'm going to put a sign on my rear windshield that says "Stay back 200 feet, even if that means you have to hit your brakes because I just cut in front of you. Not responsible for any large objects that might be hurled out of my open sunroof and into your truck's windshield as you ride my bumper."

Ok, Where did you read or even hear anyone died in this wreck??And further more not all truck drivers/nor rock haulers deserve your crappy comments. Everything you so desire to purchase is put in that favorite little store you like, by WHAT?? A BIG TRUCK!! and even further more the roads you like to travel down on put there how?? and damn ole rock hauler. Though I don't haul rock any more. I like so many others like me are way tired all the finger pointiing at us, When all the data reports SHOW YOU THE LITTLE FOUR WHEELER IS AT FAULT ABOUT 97% OF THE TIME. So the next time you go to the store/get gas/ eat out/and shop your favorite stores ask yourself How many trucks where on the road to get it there. And lets not even talk about what we drivers go thru, so I would suggest maybe you research your facts a little better before you sound even more stupid than you already do. Now run along and get your husbands dinner done before he parks his big truck, and comes home.

Ya'll knew this was coming...

Unfortunately the 99.9% of crappy truck drivers give the responsible .1% a bad name.

No, I didn't get that backwards.

"80,000 Pounds of Rolling Death."

Well I never thought I'd stoop low enough to argue with a trucker, but here goes anyway...

"Everything you so desire to purchase is put in that favorite little store you like, by WHAT?? A BIG TRUCK!!"

Everything, Mr. Steering Wheel Holder? I don't know about that... I see those dang trains going up and down the tracks carrying cars and other goods, so don't be so quick to take credit for trucks being the sole point-to-point manner of transferring goods. Oh yeah. Big shiny boats carry lots of stuff too...

"and even further more the roads you like to travel down on put there how?? and damn ole rock hauler."

Frankly, I'd rather drive on dirt than share the roads with "Rolling Death."

"Though I don't haul rock any more. I like so many others like me are way tired all the finger pointiing at us, When all the data reports SHOW YOU THE LITTLE FOUR WHEELER IS AT FAULT ABOUT 97% OF THE TIME."

Hmmm, something tells me that you made up that 97% statistic. .It would seem to me that research is not a strong suit for someone who drives a truck.

Kudos to you, however, for learning to use a computer. My guess is that as a former rock hauler, you can probably steer with your knees, talk on the phone, eat your lunch and scratch your ass all at once. Multitasking is a valuable tool to have in the rock hauling biz.

"So the next time you go to the store/get gas/ eat out/and shop your favorite stores ask yourself How many trucks where on the road to get it there."

Okay, I will. But to be fair I will also ask myself "how many people had to die so I could get this gallon of gas for my car"? I will also tell myself that even if the number is "1" then it wasn't worth it.

"And lets not even talk about what we drivers go thru,"

Okay, let's not. ???

"...so I would suggest maybe you research your facts a little better..."

Like you researched your 97% four-wheelers-at-fault-comment?

"before you sound even more stupid than you already do."

You can hear me?

"Now run along and get your husbands dinner done before he parks his big truck, and comes home."

Well that's kind of a misogynistic comment, there, pal. Is that how you view women's roles in society? Barefoot and pregnant, dinner's on the table when Trucker Dan gets home from work, speak only when spoken to? See your comment above about "sounding stupid."

In sum, trucks do play a vital role in our economy. It is a well documented fact that the rock haulers operating in Wise County are a menace to motorists and law enforcement. The Dallas and Ft. Worth papers have done stories (do your research!) to substantiate the concerns posted here about rock hauler drivers being among the most dangerous on the Wise County roads. So I ask you again: at what price are all of these goods and services delivered to us?

I'll end with a quote from a DPS trooper in the DMN article.

"If the motoring public knew what was running down the road with them, they’d be really scared,”
