Fort Worth Star Telegram story.The death had already been reported by the Messenger and other sources a couple of weeks ago. The big news is that the death has been determined to have occurred in Decatur. That means that the Wise County Courthouse now has jurisdiction over the case.
Because the child is under six, it qualifies as capital murder. I'm not sure we've had one of those in quite some time.

Well if Wise County actually does its job.. then she deserves to die!! Just like Ricky Martinez, who is still sitting in jail with a murder charge and a $250,000 bond... Wise County judicial system sucks! If you want to kill someone and get away with it.. do it in Wise County!!

I agree with you hangman. Folks in the old West just handled the problem. Today, we have everybody and their dog trying to protect "rights"....no wonder our prison system is clogged up.

I wish all you lovers of the "old west" would go find a time machine. "Just handling it" in the 'old west' often meant that the boss with the most guns made the law. "Just handling it" resulted in generational blood feuds. "Just handling it" often resulted in plenty of death and injury to innocent bystanders. Go study up on the range wars in New Mexico, Wyoming and Montana. Get out of the movie theaters and read a book about real life in Dodge City.

From what I see, according to Barry, Swift trial and judgement only comes when you have a DWI case.
Posting case history on a blog and allowing comments like this, won't this influence the jury in this case in Wise County? Just asking, because isn't everyone allowed to have due process and a fair trial?

Yep, there's a big difference in the quality of misdemeanor case processing in Wise County, as opposed to felony case processing in Wise & Jack County, in the last number of years.
Sometimes I get so mad at my kids that I feel like strangling them (figure of speech)... that doesn't mean that I actually go and kill them.
What could a 3 year old do to piss and adult off enough to do something to them that results in their death?

i agree with with 10:52 p.m that basterd Ricky Martinez is still there so what make them think that they will do something with her. I know our Wise County justice system will see to it she gets all she deserves! We do have some Wonderful people up there, that will not take kindly to any of this... Thank God for Wise County Justice!!!
