Decatur Police had a report of "shots fired" on Main Street in Decatur shortly before noon. They had trouble locating the source but a guy showed up at the Decatur Hospital (or whatever its name is) with some kind of injury a short time later. They think the two are connected . . .
Developing.
(Thanks, uh, "good looking emailer")
Edit: Crime Scene Van? Decatur has a Crime Scene Van?

What? Crime? Right here, in River City? Say it ain't so!
In broad daylight? Has to be a drive-by between drug dealers who only do victimless crimes and should never go to prison. It's the falult of our insane drug laws.
That's a pretty old lookin' van. Can't they get some of that money from where that Fire Marshall got his wheels from? Come on, Wise Guys.
Holy Crap!! That's my McMansion!
2:43 that is a really, really good point. I see that Fire MArshall every morning at the Decatur schools dropping kids off.
Thanks, 2:57PM. I needed a lift today. Usually when I post my liberal weenie feelings on here, I get blasted.
And, for the record, I was that Montague County anonymous poster from way back who said I was passed by the Wise County Fire Marshall who was driving like a bat out of hell on FM 677 as he was going towards St. Jo.
B wouldn't post my comment, (he even insulted me!) but when another Gawd's Country driver said they witnessed the same thing, B posted their comment.
Oh well, let the Friday Nite Wise County LLFTLODQ fights begin......better come up with a big topic for us, Barry. I'm cruisin' for a bruisin'.
That place gives me the creeps everytime I drive by. Kind of thugy, gangsta atmosphere

Looks like a place where someone would get shot in daylight. So much for the Main Street historical/garden district plan.
Would anyone wager that the victim showed up without Blue Cross at the ER?
A shooting in daylight on main street should be an issue in the Republican March 4th Primary. Someone is not tought enough on crime and not tough enough on drug dealers.
The Decatur Police need to work on who is dealing. I bet this was a drug deal that went bad. They need to check to see owns the property.
Jarhead, your tenants need to go! Go to jail, that is.
Anyone know when the first episode of CSI:Decatur is airing?
Are there any hotties on the show?
my question does any of the cops know how to investigate a crime
I hear Flex Hoskins is a pretty good shot.
5:25 if you think you can do any better then why don't you go to the academy and become a police officer?
All I know is Decatur Police better get ready because its coming no more small time crime for this town. I think its time we get someone to run our police force that has some backbone and will stand up to people and not worry about what he is driving or who he needs to please today.
BREAKING NEWS - FORMER COUNCILMAN SENTENCED TO LIFE FOR MURDER - Former New Fairview City Councilman Jerry Joe Bradish pleaded guilty Wednesday in Wyoming to murdering his 13-year-old daughter, Teresa Joann Bradish, in Wyoming in 1985. Bradish said in court that he picked up his daughter, had sex with her and then strangled her before dumping her body by the side of a highway. Bradish was arrested in January in Wise County after investigators linked him to the crime. Under the terms of the plea agreement, Bradish will spend the rest of his life in prison without the possibility of parole.
It looks like the ice cream truck that drove around my neighborhood when i was a kid, but the DPD Crime Scene unit is top notch in my book, name 1 thing you have heard bad about the CSI Unit
Did DCSI's method manage to crack the case or is it just another Wise County meth/crack case?
heres the one bad thing about it rex is running the department
You people that are bad mouthing Rex and his guys - I hope you are never in a situation and need them. Most of you bad-mouthers probably do not live in Decatur anyway. Remember your comments when you need to call 9-1-1 and ask them for assistance. Remember your comments the next time you are at Wal-Mart and need your car unlocked. Go ahead and call the locksmith. Pay him a fortune instead of asking the boys in blue to do it for free since you do not appreciate them anyway. I don't know how you people can criticize men and women that put their life on the line for you everyday. Personally when I see a patrol car, I am thankful for the person inside of it and their willingness to protect and serve. It takes a unique person to do every job out there. If you think you can do a better job than Rex and his guys, go to Police Academy. Until then, appreciate those who work so hard for YOU!
I think there is basically something wrong with people who use any opportunity to put down our law enforcement officers. Their jobs are something that very few of us would want to do or could do and they perform under stress and danger for us 24-7. Maybe the critcs are ones who have been on the receiving side of the law and OF COURSE whatever they did wrong was the OFFICER'S FAULT! It seems to me that the bad mouths probably have criminal backgrounds. The rest of us should praise our cops whenever possible.
At different times in my life I had girlfriends who lived in the up and downstairs of that building.
River City? I don't get it.
Word up 2:14,You rock.
Chief Hoskins and his officers are some of the finest policemen I have ever had the privilege of meeting. They work very hard at doing a great job, and if ever I am in a jam, Chief Hoskins is the first person I call, and he has NEVER let me down. Crime in Decatur is low because of what these fine officers do and not in spite of what they do!
4:23 I agree. Crime is low and Decatur is a fine place to live because of the leadership of Hoskins.
River City--from the musical "The Music Man"--about a con artist who goes to a "sleepy" town (River City) and sells everyone on buying musical instruments for their kids to get them in a band to keep them out of trouble. He scares people by saying a new pool hall will bring trouble with the song "Pool which starts with P which rhymes with T which stands for Trouble, right here in River City". Oh well, you had to be there.
Amen 10:09!
Well said.
I am thankful there is a SRO (School Resource Officer) at Decatur HS and one on the way to DMS.
SO DOES ANYONE REALLY KNOW WHAT HAPPENED? ANY FACTS TO REPORT?
Decatur has the best police department in the county.
The culprit is politics!
If the city doesn't spend the money, they might have to reduce taxes...or, God forbid, refund the taxpayers!
If there's extra money laying around, it's easy to spend when it's not yours...
looks as if alot of decatur pd posted anonymously
"They work very hard at doing a great job, and if ever I am in a jam, Chief Hoskins is the first person I call, and he has NEVER let me down."
just out of curiosity, how many "jams" do you get in and how much do these favors cost?
All these people who think Hoskins does a good job, have evidently never known real crime. Either that or they have enough money for him to look the other way. The only problem in the police department in Decatur is Hoskins. Decatur has long out-grown him.
Rex Hoskins is a good man. I've personally been arrested by him twice.
Hey 8:54 AM, are you proud of that?
