Bridgeport & Decatur District Track Results

Here. Edit: Link fixed.

But this scanned image from the Dallas Morning News shockingly indicated that the three high schoolers all set world records in the high jump.

And as a side note, Bridgeport's performance was horrific.

That sounds fishy. Did they have the markings incorrectly measured?

Your link was broken. Now I see that you were pointing out the error with your link. For those who can not find the link, here are the correct numbers:

1 Jaques Neyrey Sanger 6'4"
2 Matt Huddleston Decatur 6'2"
3 Jeremy Jackson Decatur 6'2"

OK, What's the explanation for Bridgeport's very poor showing? Is it the kids or is it the athletic director - again?

Let's pull back on calling 15,16, 17 year olds "horrific". Horrific is a term to describe murders, bad accidents and great suffering. Kids who volunteer to represent their school, then put time and energy into doing their best can not in any way be described as horrific, even if they come in dead last in everything. Plenty of athletes, it seems to me, at BHS in other sports that apparently choose not to participate in track. Kudos to those that do.

Calm down mom, it is okay I actually did "HORRIFIC"! Sorry

Bridgeport has NO AD! We have a football coach....don't confuse the two.
Decatur has Both,... and well...it speaks for itself.

bport has no talented athletes. at least not many. it is weird how this goes in cycles. but they have no size or speed. and track is all about speed.

I might be opening a can of worms here but are athletics partly a reflection on a community as a whole? Although not always true I think many times it is.

The continuing fact that Bridgeport athletic teams perform at sub-par levels wouldn't be so bad if their academics were proportionally higher. However, I don't think it's all the kids' fault - their uninspiring and underachieving parents deserve much credit (blame) for the kids' lack of performance.

So, when following the logic of 1:38, does one construe that because the Buzzards have choked in the playoffs so often in recent years that Decatur is just a bunch of chokers???
