Source. As the Duke Lacrosse case comes to an end today, I'm reminded of a line I used to use during jury selection as I paraphrased the judge from the movie, Presumed Innocent: "Ladies and gentleman, just because the prosecutor says it's so, doesn't make it so."

Unfortunately I have been too close to a situation where someone was falsely accused! I now have a very cynical view of our justice system! And people like the Lacrosse accuser are making it even the more horrible for those that are genuinely assaulted. Unless you are affected by a false accusation you will never know how horrible it is to be "proven innocent".
Now THAT is a nappy-headed ho.
Hey just keepin it real. Representin, old school.
I'm glad they got off, but what about all the men who weren't so lucky? But what about the 13 INNOCENT men of Dallas that got convicted over false accusations, and spent x amount of years in prison? These cases had JUST as many (maybe more) discrepancies, and they fought for their innocences just as hard, but yet they weren't so lucky!
Why do we let this happen? How many more innocent lives will it take for judges, prosecutors, police, and most importantly JURORS to listen to the facts!? What ever happened to "beyond a reasonable doubt"?
If there is a crime worse than sexual assault, it is the crime of making a false accusation of sexual assault, and should be punished accordingly. Think how hard it makes for REAL victims of sexual assault to be believable.
Is Jesse Hijackson still going to pay for her college tuition?
The justice system works better when facts are investigated BEFORE charges are file. It doesn't work when officials are more interested in being on a news conference on TV than in actual justice.
The people who should be hung out to dry by their short and curly hairs are the PROFESSIONALS who failed to PROTECT the judicial process even though they were PAID and charged with the DUTY making certain by RESPONSIBLY performing their JOBS that people who are FALSELY accused are NOT drug through the Hell and INSANE expense as were the Duke lacrosse athletes.
People CAN be pissed at media whores Jessie Jackson and his good buddy Al Sharpton as well as lying whore Crystal Gail Mangum but the REAL criminals are Durham District Attorney Mike Nifong and his band of henchmen. ANYONE who looked at the evidence of the case KNEW in MAY 2006 (less than 2 months after the alleged offense) there was NO case.
The Duke lacrosse case should be a REMINDER to EVERY American that there are District Attorneys EVERYWHERE who do NOT perform the duties of their JOB in a PROFESSIONAL and HONOURABLE manner.
I hate women who abuse being women. Lock 'er up.
Crystal---Stripper
Coincidence??? I don't think so.
One article I read said that the DA isn't going to pursue charges against Crystal because apparently she has had psychotic episodes in her past.
A face only a mugger could love.
lol at 9:43
Well MZcheif, at least they didn't spend 10+ years in prison, like James Waller of Dallas did.
Just as the system protects accusers from abuse, I think the system should prosecute false accusers fully. This would help future juries to believe accusation knowing false accusers will be prosecuted. Anyone want to estimate the financial cost to the defendants? How has their education and professional life been impacted? And what are their chances of suing for damages from the accuser or the prosecutor? I’ll answer that last one – none!
According to a Balitmore Sun article the legal fees for the Duke lacrosse athletes charged with rape are approximately 3 MILLION dollars.
That is why "some" law officers are upset with our current D.A.
She will not prosecute unless there is enough evidence to do so. When an investigation by law enforcement is not a good one she kicks it back. Good for HER. Watching our back against dirty cops!
DON IMUS SHOULD HAVE INTERVIEWED THIS NAPPY HEADED HO!!!!
