These were taken between Runaway Bay and Jacksboro this morning, and it's kind of a weird phenomenon. The only place between the two where the trees are gorgeous is at the hill which causes the steep incline as you head west. It may be just a quarter of a mile of beauty, and then it stops.

If you stare at the picture long enough it looks like Txsheehan's muff.
That's because you can't get her out of your mind. Go spank your monkey and leave her alone.
Beautiful
Great pictures Barry
I've seen TxSheehan's muff and it looks a lot worse than foliage.
11:39 and 2:03 hope, someday, to actually see a "muff". For now, they keep folding their arms in and licking the crease that forms at their inside elbow.
That's some dangerously beautiful country your pictures display there, Barry. I just hope you don't ever end up like Jerry, with a stick poked thru your neck, while you try to live in a ravine for several days. Always keep a jug/or jugs of water, some blankets, and some snacks handy. Cell phones don't work so well in those areas. Oh, and don't forget to watch for critters!
Yeah, that is beautiful. I remember driving through there, with the trees on the south side of the road by the steep incline. Just a flourescent green! I called it Broccoli (sp?) Mountain. The tops of the trees looked like broccoli.
Really pretty photos Barry.
Just to add one more caution to 3:04's advice to watch out for critters.
I understand rattlesnakes are attracted to lawyers.
:-)
Barry u know the old saying about "Steers and Queers". Keep driving West to Graham they have Steers.
