Why are we getting less competitive in international business and industry? Because the foreigners study engineering, math, science and economics while we study ethnic studies, make-up and hair curling! Sad and discouraging.
Why would anyone hate on someone for going to school to seek out a profession of their choice? If these ladies work hard and get established, they will be successful. I know two ladies who work in salons that make way more (100K+) than other people with four year degrees. Plus, they are their own boss and set their own hours. On top of that, they aren't swallowed up with student loans for the rest of their lives. Doesn't sound like a bad deal to me.
6:21 salary is not the best way to measure "success". Prostitutes and rug dealers can make lots of $ but don't contribute much to society. I'd hope our schools could better prepare workers who produce an advancing technological population rather than those who only color, cut or curl hair.
