I am also proud of Decatur's new fire station, a first class facility with state of the art equipment and a well trained staff. I honestly feel If my life is threatened, whether by fire, accident, natural disaster, or criminals, that we have excellent law enforcement and emergency responders who will increase my chances of survival. That should make the entire community proud and feeling safe.

Fort Worth was required to pay for these types of projects in the surrounding rural areas in order to qualify for other regional money. So, although it does use your federal tax dollars, at least you got some of it pushed out to your county instead of it all being spent in the metro area.
There is a trailer parked at the yard that is already in use as a command center. You do not need a new RV / command center, when you already have one that just sits there. That is a total waste of good tax dollars. The county could have used that for replacing the older fleet, or vests for the officers. This RV is nothing but a flophouse on wheels at our expense. Where the hell is Bud Kennedy on this one?
