Be sure to read the write up on the DISD board meeting. A whole meeting was spent on rolling backpacks!! Nothing more important in a school district than that?

I think it is important (alarming) when kids are packing 40 lbs backpacks. They need freaking lockers!!

txi killing wise county residents destroying families and now cutting back to save money costing jobs in wise county sorry bunch of butt heads

A video game blamed for school lockdown? How is that possible? What did the video game do? Come alive and lockdown the school?

9:01, ever use any concrete in your day to day life? Drive on any roads? Got a foundation? Use any bridges? You use products, depend on them, and then despise those that provide what you would scream like a little baby for if taken away.

when txi cost more for a product that is inferior to another product down the road, what do you expect! As far as backpacks!! you should see what the kids gatta haul around as far as books and gear for their daily life! I sure as hell never had that much crap when I was in school due to the fact we had LOCKERS!! Why the hell was this new high school designed to have NO WHERE to put things that are required for the student body to possess!!

Why have the Democrats abandoned the economic philosophy of JFK? I know the earthquake in Washington D.C. was the result of him turning over in his grave. The 33 lost jobs is part of Obama's "Change you can believe in".

Did the Decatur Board really spend board time discussing backpack weight?

What next?

The color of pencils!

6:12. You are so right! All schools should have lockers for the kids! Lockers have been around in schools for eons, for good reason! However, DISD seems to think other items take precedence. Things like building tracks behind the new high school and lighting that track and that gorgeous practice field, installing an exceptionally expensive iron fence around the football field, etc. You can forget lockers until after DISD has Story's new artificial turf on the football field and his indoor football practice facility built!

High time parents of these kids decided to straighten out board members' heads! Who is up for unelection this spring on the board? Need some practical-minded, independent thinkers who can't be "bought" or "flattered" into the current mindset of taking care of anything athletics while ignoring what should be THE priorities!

TXI workers need a union. That place is dangerous! it"s like a coal mine job.

Anonymous said...

Despise TXI, not the workers.

Man - the HR department at TXI is pretty damned serious when they lay off someone. Look how they are escorting that man out the door. In cuffs and shackles!

9:19 - the school being built without lockers had very little to do with this school board or administration - most weren't on beard then anyway.

12:33, it is THIS board that could have lockers put in, instead of putting unnecessary eye candy around the football field.

Decatur isn't as high society as it used to be. Now they are a wannabee Northwest.

It's for the kids ya know= The football kids only. Please remember this when you vote next time for school board. Will somebody tell me what was wroung with the chain link fence around the football field?

The bleachers and fencing is great! Kids don't carry 39-49 pounds of books. That sounds like an irresponsible exaggeration! Sounds like someone is beating a drum for nothing. Our kids could benefit from a little physical fitness. Quit listening to idiots and focus on student learning.

It takes a lot of books to get to 40 lbs.

Maybe we could get those wimpy eagles caddies like they have in golf. Time to grow up, grab your backpack and get to class.

Which foolish board member fell for this bunk?
The car guy?
The doc?

It takes money to win baby!

T X I has been getting behind for a long time. The last thing is the union some idiot spoke of.The worn out plant, the distance from from the shot to the plant to loadout are just the major problems.Changing from one plant manager every time the acountants need to blame someone don"t help either. They're always grabbing for the brass ring that isn't there won't help either. Be a damm good place to build a bussiness.Maybe some of Obama's relatives can go to work there and get democratic money giveaway. By the way;I don't and never worked there.

The Decatur board has a poor track record and they keeping building on it!

Way to go boys!
