I knew the Dallas cop Kevin James. He was a good guy, who talked to me and encouraged me before I became a cop. He was working off-duty in the parking lot of a club on OakLawn when a guy shot him, ran, was caught in the Trinity River levees, and was given life for Capital murder. The casenotes on LexisNexis are interesting.
I've known the Justin cop Kevin James for a few years, and he's a decent, straight-forward guy. He was shot with a shotgun while stopping the decedant from killing two of his family members, whom the actor had already shot. Kevin saved their lives. He did his duty. It's hard to avoid the word hero in this context of duty.

The Justin cop didn't die so it's ok to tell the joke. I was trying to think of a Mall Cop joke myself but couldn't come up with a good one.
