9:23: Asst Principal (Sledge), Curriculum Director (Bullard, but she remains as PEIMS manager), Admin. Asst. (Waldo, but remains as full time teacher), and Spec. Ed admin. (Forgot her name). Also, according to sources, Coach named Verdon(sp?)for cause, and two probationary teachers whose positions are being consolidated w/ provisional term teachers already under contract. At least that is according to my neighbors who teach.
10:44 Define downhill? Appears to me like they are just cleaning up the mess of the old administration. Sometimes scrubbing out the infection takes time. And, if you don't like the district, don't let the door hit you on the way out. We'll help you pack!
12:13 Only if you and couple more Alvoidian nut cases come with us. We can set up camp near Black Creek Lake and call it Evil Wilsonville. If anyone wants to join the clan, they must prove two things. 1. That they can take tax-payers money while doing nothing, and 2. They can sale used cars if #1 doesn't work out for them.
Time to pray for Alvord ISD and the narrow minded people that call themselves "trustees". Time to pray for the greedy superintendent(puppet) that takes care of friends and family while ignoring what kids need. Most of all it is time to pray that the nurse (puppeteer) is exposed for her spiteful and vengeful ways.
11:20 I seem to recall the former administration ran that school system pretty well for many years. As a taxpayer I appreciated that. When the Enis controversy hit then all of a sudden that administration was all wrong, even with proof presented to the board of insubordination. ??? In my opinion, humble as it is, it seems you and others have an agenda and anyone who disagrees with you can "pack and leave." Remember everyone has a right to their opinion and shouldn't be threatened and told to pack and leave if they happen to disagree with you. Perhaps you have been involved in this too long and it should be you who packs and leaves so that Alvord can hopefully bring some sense of professionalism back into the system. I happen to think the superintendent is overpaid and his wife who was brought on board in mid year is also overpaid. Were they both not retirees brought back into the system? If so then why are they earning such high pay? Why does our elementary school still not have a full time principal instead of an interim? I personally do not care if Enis is back or not. I think there are more problems in our system that need to be fixed, but I sure don't think bickering, namecalling and telling folks to pack and leave if they don't agree with YOU is productive. In fact, that is extremely childish and fuels division in the schools and community. I hope you are not someone who works in the school system because that would make you part of the problem. Our kids deserve a professionally run school. The good old boy system does not equal professionalism!
Not that this will change anyones mind, but don't be a hypocrite and espouse rumor and innuendo:
1) The former administration sold the community and at least part of the board a bond program that was $1,000,000 under funded on a facility that was inadequate for it's total intened purpose; 2) The "proof" you reference was at best questionable, and when original documents (not copies) were requested by private citizens, they could not be "located" or were not availiable because of "personnel" issues; 3) Look at a state survey of what Supt. salaries have done over the last eight to ten years. The Alvord supt. is actually UNDER PAID for his level of experience and training (and he has NEVER retired under TRS); don't know about the spouses "retirement", but her salary is inline with area districts with the same enrollement and responsibilities; 4) The elementary "interim" is a daily rate, non-contractual employee who is saving the district about $25K a year in salary and benifites, and you call this as "mismanagement"? 5) This is the most open, professionally run district Alvord has had since before the supt (3 or 4 supts. ago, depending on how you count) was REASSIGNED by the board. For the first time in a long time your "good old boy" system has been neutered and turned out to pasture. 6) It is regretfull that you and people like you are so caught up in politics that you can't see the benefits the children are gaining. But then again, you really don't care about the young people, just as long as you and yours can return to getting your way when you want it.
8:05 Prayer is not about getting what you want based on bitterness. It's about being thankful for what He has given. As a taxpayer and parent, I am thankful for the trustees and the job they do. I am also thankful for a superintendent that is fair and just and always has the best interest of the children in mind. I am thankful because he makes it a point to know each child by name and not by community status. I am thankful the board hired his wife, who has proven herself as a valuable leader. I am thankful for the school nurse, who cares for our children on a daily basis and knows each one by name and need. I am also thankful for those who see beyond the bitterness and rumor and look at the big picture. And most of all, I am thankful for our children, who excell academically, agriculturally and athletically, despite the bickering that surrounds them. I pray that a hedge of protection covers them in this difficult time.
11:35, you began so well and then regressed into personal attack yet again. I never said "mismanagement" I simply said in my own opinion I believed they were both overpaid. And you know what? I still believe they are. The thing you just can't accept is that YOU cannot change my opinion if it is what I feel. Once again, the personal attack in your last paragraph because I don't agree with you. Sounds to me that you are so incredibly bitter and have been for the last several years! It is obviously you who must have your way, regardless. I am a citizen of Alvord, a taxpayer, and a grandparent of two AISD students. My concern is not the politics, which is what I thought I made clear in my previous post, but IS a concern for financial responsibility and professionalism. Bringing back the former coach at a large salary, paying a superintendent and principal high salaries because they are so experienced are not, in my opinion, financially responsible moves! If Alvord needs to save money then remove those high salaried positions and hire people who are experienced but not on the highest end of the scale. Don't try to tell me that isn't good for our kids because they deserve "the best" either. No one is irreplaceable and there are many many many good "lesser salaried" young folks who can do just as good a job. The fact that you cannot hear another's opinion (business opinion, for that matter) without attacking the messenger tells me quite a great deal about your character. You certainly are not the caliber of folk needed on a school board or as school personnel.
8:23 You might be surprised to know the "if you don't like it, leave" was a favorite quote of the former administration. We took his advice and left, but are considering coming back now that his "rule" is over and you have an AD that cares about sports other than football. You are right - everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But I agree with 11:20. If you don't like what you see, you have two choice; make the best of it or leave it behind. And - just an observation - 8:02 - Your last paragraph is somewhat hypocritical to your first sentence, don't you think? ("then regressed into personal attack yet again.") Now who's calling the kettle black? It pretty much ruins the rest of your argument. But that is just my opinion - don't attack the messenger.

Must be the mother of a NEW Bridgeport Cheerleader. They think they can do whatever they want to.
Whoever poured that curb must have gone to school in Decatur instead of Mexico.
