You Can't Ignore This Story Even If You Tried

Twin brothers in Houston saw their 89 year old mother fall on the floor while they were watching the football national championship game and simply left her there. (Hey, it was an exciting game!)  From fall until death took three days, and from there they left her for another three months. Oh, my. (Story).

I think those boys might be a little slow. And although they might be guilty of something, murder may not be it.  (It's pretty complicated but watch for the charge to be changed to Injury to the Elderly By Omission.)

But momma had a checking account with $700,000 in it?

In my opinion, they are either slow or moma was such an evil person they were glad she died.

These Brothers are sick!!!! Even If they were slow or Momma was a evil witch how in the world could you leave someone dead in the hall for 3 months with bugs crawling around! can you imagine the smell? Come on these two idiots only wanted to blow momma's money! Before they were sent to the nut house!

I am not trying to be an asshole, but situations like this should make one consider whether or not abortion should really be an issue. These guys are obviously not capable of functioning in society. BG - is this a good example of a possible insanity plea? I would think so.

2:19 did you even read the first story that came out? They didn't spend any of the money.

You can't judge what adults do as a basis for justifying abortion. If they're worthless criminals, mete out their punishment - don't assume that unborn children will turn to crime because others already have.
This is not a case for an insanity plea. They may be a little slow, but this is just plain old greed!

How do the Popos know when she fell or how long it took her to die?

I wonder if the detectives used the old "prisoner's dilemma" on the twins. Make each one think the other was cooperating and that they better confess too before the train left the station.

...and the thot plickens!!

Do I understand the story correctly that these two defendants share a common defense attorney? You can't do that! What the hell is wrong with criminal defense attorneys these days?

??Abortion?? How is one to know (especially 40+ years ago) these guys would turn out crazy as a bed bug? Insanity plea is a crock, anytime. Anyone who willingly takes the life of another is insane. Hard to argue that.

Jeez people...teh abortion comment was in jest, kinda. I was simply stating that if you knew you were going to have mentally disabled twins, you might consider passing. Otherwise, they might leave you to die on the floor, and live with you in the house for 3 months. Obviously, these guys are not right in the head. I don't think it is a greed issue, it sounds like they are simply missing certain processing mechanisms. Their faces do not look malevolent, they look lost. Of course, all this could be a facade to deceive us of their true intentions to return to living in a run down house with a dead body.

Please note that I have no real stake in this discussion, I am simply passing time at the office. That's right, living the dream.

If the autopsy proved death by falling, then they can't be charged with murder, only abuse of the elderly.

3:44 you da man. Be sure to work some extra hours.

Somebody that refuses to get a job needs a welfare check.

I agree 3:44, I know of a family who has an autistic child who is very violent by proving so. I keep telling them you just wait, one of these days he’s going to kill you and not know what the hell he’s doing.

Obviously retarded. They'll probably get the chair.

So, how did the game come out?

$700.000,that mom had in her account. A good D.A. and defence attorny should have that wraped up in a couple of months.

Did anyone else notice that, eerily, there's no comment from the "other brother Ed"?

How about leaving the "pro abortion" argument out of this? Innocent babies commit no crimes and do not deserve death. HOWEVER, you "pro abortion" people can certainly become "pro death penalty" so that those who are thugs and who DO commit violent crimes against others will meet the same grim reaper that would come for the innocent baby.
Sounds like a no brainer to me.
You guys a little mixed up? think?
