A form of poaching, yes. "Road Hunters" is a slang term applied to those that hunt from the road, typically shooting game on land that they do not have legal access to. Of course this is legal if done at night. At least thats whut my cuzzin'from Arkansas tell me.
About 7 vehicles of DPS & Wise Co. Sheriff officers headed to a fire lane at Bridgeport lake yesterday afternoon about 5:30. Any word on what was going on?
The sign is about 2or3 hundred yards from his back porch and yes, he used to have a target down there to make sure he could hit it That sign has been there since the early 90s and there was nothing out there but his house and the bridge. Lots of drunken idiots cruising backroads back then, myself included!
Only problem is, the landowner does not own the right of way. So, while illegal, someone stopping on the road and shooting a deer alongside the road is no business of the landowner.
Only problem, 10:09 is that every bullet that crosses said ROW and lands on private property is a problem. Road hunting usually means shooting from a road across a fence.
House of york. He hears a gunshot then investigates. thats how he catches them. 10:09. If the deer is on the landowners property then it's his business. the road hunter would have to trespass to retrieve his kill. That's when the landowner could then shoot the poacher from his back porch. I only know of one person he shot. we buried the truck and left the poacher for the buzzards to eat. His bones are probably somewhere in the field behind the sign.
I think calling the police would be the smart thing to do. Porch hunting people is pretty sadistic even if they are breaking the law...anyone that would put up a sign like that is hoping to have a chance to kill someone. Riding around hunting animals from the road is crazy, but laying in wait "chainsaw massacre" style for those doing it is proof this gentlemen is a certifiable nutcase!
Yes he is commissioner and on his 3rd term to boot! But I agree, somewhat a nutcase cause the GAWD syndrome has sure gone to his head. Politics can sure take a good person and turn them into a certified ass with power!

I've seen it posted for several years, and the owner means it!
Is that like poaching?
thats awesome, poachers should be shot anyways
I guess, 3:05. The landowner must sit in the bushes or up in a tree waiting with a gun for "road hunters" otherwise, how does he catch them.

I dont get it. What are they trying to say?
If you shoot road hunters are you not " road hunting" as well?
9:02, nope...not road hunting...just "road kill!"
isn't that on the way to screaming bridge-decatur?
Exactly how many road hunters has this guy shot?? Be willing to bet zero. Hollow threat.
2:59, I don't think he means it, all bark and no bite.
No-nonsense kinda guy.

Anybody seen the video of Bret Favre getting nutted in practice?!?!? PLEASE POST IT, SKIPPY!!!!!
Where do you buy a Road Hunting License? Do you get a single tag for a paved road and two gravel road tags? What's the limit on dirt roads?
I hear that in Alvord that road hunting is a real difficult sport. They hunt for the bits of streets between the potholes?

At least, that's what I have been told.

A certifiable nutcase indeed. Did someone say he was a commissioner too?
