Mondo kudos to the black reporter for being professional and compassionate enough to comprehend the nexus of the 90-year old southern woman's usage of the term "coloured."
My 90+ year old, Georgia born and raised, slightly daft, mother-in-law thinks nothing of telling the salon staff, "I will wait for the coloured girl since she is the only one who knows how I like my hair done." The "coloured girl" has been doing my m-i-l hair for 3 years and m-i-l has never learned Shirl's name. Thankfully, the "coloured girl" is compassionate and understanding and does not take offense because she realizes that my m-i-l is being respectful and truly appreciates Shirl.

Unbelievable.
Ok Dork,
what's your point? that a 90 year old woman who was born in 1920 and grew up in a racist society is indicative of the state of the rest of us?!
that's a stretch, even for you!
that's like me saying that because Bill Ayers, Obammy's buddy, is a murderous criminal, then so are the rest of you liberals...
God bless 90 year old women.
She must be from Wise County.
You have to admit the "colored man" was pretty cool about it.
"I am not a crook."
"I am not a witch."
"I am not a racist"
Growing up in Decatur you probably heard worse every night at the supper table.
Carry on, Napoleon.
Wise County Republican Womans Group on line one .... Hello I am a 90 year old woman and ...
3:28 - I agree with you and personally just posting the CSPAN comment was stupid.
So this was supposed to kick an old ninety year old in her racist arse?
We have much younger racists right here in Wise County.
3:28 I agree with you too! Not sure what the big deal is. Is it not true what she said?
True hurts sometimes.
