I think it is down Cuba road east of Bridgeport. I have heard stories since the 80's

Since you got married your posts have dumbed down noticeably. You sure it's such a good idea living with a woman?

It's called Screaming Bridge. It used to be a suspension bridge. You used to go down Preskitt Road and then take left, then follow it and turn left again. It would take you into Paradise. The bridge was a doper hangout and for the young lovers but did have the tall tale mystery to it. The legend I was familiar with was that you get on the bridge and then stop, honk your horn and then the ghost would come out.

Never heard of this place either. Have heard of some haunted bridge around Paradise though.

I like making comments I think you won't post. Sometimes you surprise me. Other times you don't.

Chaos rules.

There's been stories about Screaming Bridge forever. Been there a couple of times too.

Thank goodness, I never saw a ghost. I'd be in a mental hospital today if I did.

I thought Hell's Gate was at Possum Kingdom lake.

What scholarly writing skills. That's Wise county, alright.

pretty sure that is down on the back side of the lake by the boy scout camp.

did a 4th grader write this??
Hells gates is out by the lake!

Used to go to screaming bridge as a teenager to see the ghost, but never heard of hell's gate. One point, however....ghosts are spirits of people left behind after death. 4 foot little beings with red eyes sounds more like a demon to me. Love ghost hunting, demons...not so much.

Thats not Hell's Gate, they were on LSD Freeway.

The description of the area really doesn't sound like Screaming Bridge.

Could be Hobo Bridge, although the driving and seeing/not seeing the log thing just sounds silly.

No, screaming bridge was way different and didn't involve a pasture, tall grass, etc. Sounds creepy, though, wherever it is....don't plan to visit.

Has anybody ever heard of the Incident at Banjo Bridge?

West end of Lake Bridgeport, flooded when the lake was built. Ask your parents BG I am sure they can tell you about it. My parents have told me about it. BG are you sure you grew up in B-port?

I thought it was on CR 1308, Dry Creek bridge. At night IT WAS CREEPY.

10:44 there is tall grass and a pasture at screaming bridge

It is CR 3114 off of Cuba Rd by BHS. Bridge is very creepy, and no longer in use.

I drove out there once and turned my car off, played my banjo for awhile, then the wise county begger came out.

So, I am not a local, but a move-in waaaaaay back when. I hear about one Screaming Bridge near Decatur, off Preskitt Road-said bridge referenced above-but with a witch that will come out and holler/scream at you ONLY if you stop on the bridge, kill the engine and put your keys on the hood. Then, to my surprise, hear about another Screaming Bridge, this one located between B'port and Paradise off Cuba Road, also referenced above-where a witch will holler/scream at ya if you stop on the bridge, kill the engine and put your keys on the hood...I have a teenager, and she has friends, and apparently, I am the cool mom who took daughter and friends to both bridges..,it was quite fun to watch them be scared. The B'port bridge didn't look to have been used as a drug den. Haven't heard anything about what you posted, but then again, I am a transplant..

Hey guys, hope I can clear this up. Hell's Gate is NOT the same thing as Screaming Bridge. (Granted they are not too far away from each other). Screaming Bridge is the spray-painted bridge that connects HWY 114 to Preskitt. Hell's Gate is off of Cuba Rd, just east of Bridgeport. The road on which Hell's gate lies has been blocked off and abandoned for almost 10 years now. It is not a paved road- just a gravel- that leads into town not too far from B-port HS. The road is out for a couple of miles. In the middle of the "out" section is this old bridge called "hells gate." One of the support beams is gone, making the bridge very dangerous to drive on. I have been there at night, and it's really not that scary at all. Hope this clears up some confusion.

Screaming Bridge and Hell's Gate are two completely different places. Get your stories straight before you post.
