Let's See . . .

We've got a governor who bad mouths the federal government at every turn, and tried to show up President Obama with the "immigration letter" he tried to hand to him at the airport. I wonder why Texas could possibly be turned down?

Story.

Texans pay federal taxes and are just as deserving of federal assistance, as is any other citizen of the US, regardless whether or not the governor of Texas is a douche bag.

Remember, Obama is suppose to be ABOVE partisan politics and the POTUS of ALL Americans. US citizens should not have to kiss the arse of the POTUS to be assured of disaster assistance. This is the US not some third world nation ruled by some thug, remember.

Texas being denied disaster assistance is just another example of the Obama administration's racism and/or bigotry as well as Obama's propensity to use tax dollars to payoff Obama's cronies.

So, are you saying our federal government is not above playing politics with taxpayer's money? Surely you jest!

Maybe because Perry isn't a black Democrat?

Lets remember that the US Government is broke and Texas has a surplus. I have heard Perry bragging about it.

I like the commercial where he "confronted Barak Obama" etc, blah blah blah.
It looked more like Obama ignored him, which is what the rest of the US pretty much does.

Mmmm....last time I checked most of the US is pretty much ignoring OBAMA too, 12:44. LOL

I am so proud Obama is staying true to his word and not play politics. "Reach across the aisle".....
Obama is a joke. As is the entire federal govt.

This has to be the most ignorant post you've ever done. And that's saying a lot.

Did Rick's rent house get damaged?

FEMA makes the recommendation to the President on whether it should or should not be declared. FEMA makes the determination, not the President personally, as they do in every disaster declaration. Politics does not come into it. SBA will make an agency declaration and offer low interest loans to the people.

You are aware that OBAMA appointed Craig Fugate as the head of FEMA, right?

If you honestly believe, the decision to deny federal disaster assistance to Texas was not motivated by partisan politics, intended to bitch-slap Prick Erry, you are the type of person who owns oceanfront property in Kansas.

I am confused, should the government spend more money as Perry requsts or should it take its spending and shove it as Perry requests? I am glad Perry is above politics.

Sorry 2:47, Gov. Good Hair no longer has his oceanfront property in Kansas. I heard he donated it to the Tea Party...

Come on, folks. The FEMA decision was correct. The "disaster" in this case involved - on a relative scale - a minimal sum. It seems obvious to me that it is Perry who is playing politics here. He had to know that this was NOT a "disaster" and hence did not qualify for the relief (based on precedent - despite your hostility, MzChief, FEMA does NOT grant every such piddling request).

I think Perry knew damn good and well that his request would get turned down, and he intended to use this - conveniently timed just before the gubanatorial election - to stir people up. He's just trying to garner sympathy to himself and condemn White by association.

Congratulations to you all for reacting exactly the way Perry hoped you would.

I'm confused too, 3:44. When I do a little research I find that Analyst, Meredith Whitney ranks Texas best in the nation in economic health.

Mmmmm.....seems to me Govenor Perry must be doing something right.

I bet they will continue to take income tax from the disaster areas. Obama is a douchebag racist. The Dems will be wiped out, Repubs will grind the stimulus and the federal checkbook to a halt over the next few months, the economy will get worse, and it will be another 200 plus years before the next black (or half black) Prez. Because Obama will go down as the worst Prez in history.

Bush gets all of the blame for the economy, NOT the 6 years of Democrat controlled house & senate. SO, Obama is gonna get the blame for not turning the economy around, as the Repubs take over next month and wreck it to insure the wipeout of the Democratic Party. Good luck liberals.

Obama gave it to Eddie Bernice Johnson she then gave it to a fund to support a family picnic, claims the wind disrupted the picnic and thus the assistance would allow them to have a new picnic.

Perry is a plastic figurehead.

Nigger done bitch-slapped yo Perry

It is perfectly acceptable for ANYONE, including Prick Erry, to refuse funds with strings attached that would cause, for decades, an increase in state expenditures. There is something immoral about a state being denied disaster relief assistance merely because Prick Erry and the citizens of Texas have refused to kiss Obama's arse.

Do you HONESTLY believe you would be supporting the refusal of aid if it had been Bush denying aide to New Orleans?

I know the world revolves around Texas but did you Texan's know many of us in the U.S. have recently suffered floods (Idaho, Minnesota, Tennessee) Hail storms, and tornados, (Wisconsin, Minnesota, OK, Tennessee, Kansas). Your tropical storm does not measure in some cases to the other issues across the nation. There are other states.

MzIdiot...it is a size and $$ determination made by FEMA. The guidelines are set and if the damage falls under the guideline, the federal government lets the state and local officials offer the assistance that they have in place for these types of disasters.

I only have to disagree with Mzchief on one point....we may not be a third world country, but we are ruled by a thug.

Preach on mzchief. I totally agree with your 1st post!! Even I'm surprised.

I appreciate your posts and your facts.

Way to shoot down mzc.

WHAT??? Why are all you republicans mad? I thought you didn't need government hand outs? Now all the sudden you are mad because you don't get one....pfffft. You all need to STFU, you dont have a leg to stand on here. Your incessant whining and carrying on has brought this upon you.

Politics as usual.........Perry is positioning himself for President and we the folks in America just go right along with the way it is..........

It is money that buys elections.......

.....who is dumber - the candidates or the voters?

5:58,
I didn't see any facts in the comments by 2:47, 3:44, 4:08, 4:49. All I saw was a bunch of babble. Facts are usually accompanied by sources. Without a source it's just an opinion. I guess, I get an attaboy for shooting you down.

Let's see....Perry is running as the "anti-Washington" candidate when the sentiment among voters is decidedly anti-Washington. Then Washington denies aid to Texans who suffered a disaster. Seems like the Obama administration has just helped the Perry campaign.

Does anyone remember the cemetary out by Runaway Bay that was said to be haunted? If I remember correctly, there was some sort of shack nearby too that was said to be haunted.
