I hate hoe people like that think they are entitled to park anywhere it will go. Not in a real parking spot. Makes me want to run it over with my gas guzzling, jacked up truck.
They look cute, but Consumer Reports say they ride pretty rough, especially in "pitch" (front to back rocking).

The Smart car is made by Mercedes Benz and has been sold in europe for for a few years. The American version gets 39 miles to the gallon. Consumer reports says it is one of the slowest cars ever tested with a very jerky transmission. It passed the crash test (but only by crashing it into another smart car and not a full size car)

There would not be much to clean up when one of those meets a rock truck.

I know it is difficult for you people to realize it, but with energy dissipation, mass doesn't always win. Everybody was saying that retarded "no replacement for displacement... huuuuurrr" and that was disproven, too.
A pregnant roller skate is the best I've heard about them...
If you spend %15,000 on a Smart Car that gets 40 mpg....
Rather than spend $5,000 on a used car that gets 20 mpg....
And if you drive 20,000 miles a year....
At $3.50 a gallon for gas....
It will take you nearly six years just to break even (not counting financing and/or repairs.)

Slow down there fella- they do surprisingly well for there size (which the tests we read took into account) You cannot POSSIBLY in a elenty billion years think you'd come out on top (or anywhere good) against a surburban.

A friend of mine has one. They're not bad.
My agreement ratio is -1 with Word, but he makes a very good point on this. A car payment takes a lot of bite out of expensive per gallon gas savings. A paid for 18 mpg is a better bargain than a 40 mpg that cost 15000 bucks that has payments.
