Opening Chaos

Oh, my. Edit: I think Yahoo's chart was screwed up. Looking back at what happened, it looks like the initial drop was around 600 points. The last close was 8,579.19 and the lowest it got this morning was 7882.51. They might want to fix that --- seeing a 1,000 point drop is quite the shocker (although a 600 drop isn't a reason to celebrate.)

The world markets are blaming the US for the nose dive their stock markets are taking - we don't need any more enemies.

well, the world markets would be correct in blaming the US economy.

Blame the democrats? Because the massive problems in our economy just popped up in the last 6 months, right?

Once the market hits -10%, the stop trading to let people cool off a little.

I saw the same thing this morning and thought I might get the rest of the day off.

Unfortunately the market rebounded.

Stupid market.

Alaska panel finds Palin abused power in firing

By MATT APUZZO, Associated Press Writer 23 minutes ago

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Sarah Palin unlawfully abused her power as governor by trying to have her former brother-in-law fired as a state trooper, the chief investigator of an Alaska legislative panel concluded Friday. The politically charged inquiry imperiled her reputation as a reformer on John McCain's Republican ticket......story HERE

Palin will also be charged with obstruction of justice because of her attempt to cover up.

But, she is a cute lying hypocrite.

This is the kind of people McCain surrounds himself with.

The stock market crash is due primarily to subprime mortgages and fear of Obama's tax proposals. Mortgages are packaged together and sold by the mortgage companies to financial institutions. The owners (banks, etc.) of these mortgages are now failing. Democrates refuse to acknowledge what happened is due to the Community Reinvestment Act. It might be that the don't understand the truth. The new media is protecting Obama and the Democrats. However, all paths of the crash lead to Bill Clinton and the current Democrate dominated Congress. You might also be interested in the fact that Obama was an attorney in the class action suite in Chicago charging lenders with redlining. This was settled out of court and what followed was the nationwide escalation of subprime mortgages.

The last straw will be if Obama becomes president and follows through on his promise to tax the rich. The world economy is scared shitless about this happening and that, together with the subprime mess, are driving the Dow down.

"Obama tried to sway Iraqis on Bush deal

In private conversations on troop presence, candidate pitched delay

EXCLUSIVE:

At the same time the Bush administration was negotiating a still elusive agreement to keep the U.S. military in Iraq, Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama tried to convince Iraqi leaders in private conversations that the president shouldn't be allowed to enact the deal without congressional approval.

Mr. Obama's conversations with the Iraqi leaders, confirmed to The Washington Times by his campaign aides, began just two weeks after he clinched the Democratic presidential nomination in June and stirred controversy over the appropriateness of a White House candidate's contacts with foreign governments while the sitting president is conducting a war.

Some of the specifics of the conversations remain the subject of dispute. Iraqi leaders purported to The Times that Mr. Obama urged Baghdad to delay an agreement with Mr. Bush until next year when a new president will be in office - a charge the Democratic campaign denies."
