As I Watch The Republican Convention . . .

. . . actually a short film about how John McCain and his trophy wife met (I think a couple of relevant family value facts were omitted), I started looking around the Internets to see if any one else was doing some eye rolling. I then came across this photo with the caption, "At least they've settled on a message." I have no idea what was going on when the "Obey" signs came out. Edit: Unless this is a photoshopped joke in which case I'm stupid but bow in the direction of the joke creator. Edit: Back to Cindy McCain. I just heard her speak about the starving children in Bangladesh as she wears a pair of diamond earrings worth more than my house. I'm confused.

Ah, confusion. At least you will be comfortable there. One thing that I'll have to tip my hat to the Democrats is they'll never have to defend themselves against the trophy wife allegation.

BLAHBLAHBLAHBLAHBLAHBLAH.

You leftys are nothing but noise.

Keep scrambling, though. You'll still have your 14% approval rating congress led by that class act Pelosi.

Chins up, little troopers!

According to the IRS, the McCain's have averaged (yearly) giving over 25% of their income to charity.. by the way.. what SHOULD she be wearing?

pretty funny coming from a $200 an hour lawyer..

This blog was fun for a time. Now it has turned extreme right radical. I will leave you with a note. The Democratic movers and shakers are pleased to have Sarah "Barracuda" Palin as the VP nominee. It gives us a much to work with.

Ok Barry, WHATS GOING ON,,
I was at the Wise County United Way lunch today and saw a white helicopter land at the Decatur Civic Center like three times. I went to the Decatur Airport to check on my flying lessons and I saw the same helicopter. A guy in a suit go out and was talking to the airport people. I was then told that I would not be able to fly on Saturday night, and they went on to say "the airspace in Decatur will be closed from 7 till 11" NOW WHAT IN THE HECK!!!! Does anyone know what is goin on.....

You wanted that sign to be real so badly it wasn't obviously 'shopped?

Next, you'll be saying Michelle Obama and Hillary are 'beautiful'

Uff, I'm sorry, I just vomited in my mouth- a little.

Liberalism does funny things to a persons perception.

In your dreams 9:16.

Just wait 'til the media starts diggin into Baracks background you'll see who... Huh, what?- This just in- They aren't going to lay a finger on him because they know he'd be destroyed in about 15 minutes if he was EVER taken to task?

I'll laugh when McCain and Palin win in spite of having the deck so thoroughly stacked against them.

For that matter I'll laugh now. Haw Haw.

Suck it losers, get a haircut and a job.

how bout that scuffle in the crowd at the beginning?
good times.

and listening to mccain speak was a total beat down. it was like listinging to his 97 year old mother. he does not stand a chance in any debate with obama.

if he swtched spots with his VP, then the ticket is much better, but he is not president...she is.

obama won the election tonight.

9:22 on December 21 2012 you know what's going on and you won't have to fly anywhere to find out.

CAN YOU PROVE IT IN A COURT OF LAW? said...

$200 an hour? Pfft. I charge more than that.

Since the McCains actually put their money where their mouth is and adopted an orphan from Bangladesh, shouldn't they get a pass on talking about the starving children in that country?

Anonymous said...

I'm pretty sure this was a photoshop...I was watching the convention as well and saw that their were posters that looked like these, but they said McCain and Palin or something like that on both sides.

Is there something wrong with being successful and having money? I've tried like hell for 50 years to become as wealthy as possible. I've worked two jobs for twenty years, invested, bought rentals, and whatever it took to get ahead to take care of my family. Unfortunately, firefighter/paramedics dont make as much as attorneys. Most of us dont make as much as we would like, and then get snotty about someone who has more than us. Be happy with what you have, and stop trying to belittle those who have done more.

A Servant's Heart doesn't have to go naked in the process...I'm sure Barack and Michelle wear business suits from WalMart too.

"Obey" signs? That is confusing - old Republican men trying to get their wives in line or a bunch of evangelical radical Christians?

I agree with you 9:16 - this blog is turning politically angry.

Any wonder our country is in the shape it is in?

good to go 10:52--BG sounds just like a Dem in that if "I can't have it, neither should anyone else". So she has diamond earrings!! So they have 7 homes or whatever!

How many trips have you made abroad to help those less fortunate than you? Let's see==$200.00 per hour X 40 per week X 52 weeks==$400,000.00 +.

You could help a lot of people withat chunk of change and, yup, get yourself a diamond earring for that ear. that is IF you work and not devote TOO many hours to your left wing rants...

By the way, I wonder just how much in taxes they pay to shore up those who are on the government TIT???

As alluded to by 9:16, the McCains yearly charitable contributions are likely more than yours would be at your present rate in 100 lifetimes.

Sorry, for providing some perspective.

She might of spoken about the children of Bangledesh but at least she talked the talk and walked the walk, she adopted a child and brought her home. See that's the difference between Republicans and Liberal Democrats. The Libs talk it, criticize it, laugh at it, make fun of it, but can't back up Jack Sh-t.

Anonymous said...

So just what is she supposed to wear? Is she supposed to wear rags everywhere that she goes?

Plenty of the celebrities who are Democrats speak about starving children while wearing their $ 10K suits, driving their $ 100K cars and flying in their multi-million dollar private jets. But, you don't see people coming down on them for doing this. Just look at Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt and Madonna for an example.

Anonymous said...

Wow! I didn't think you were naive enough to believe that picture was NOT photoshopped.

"...she wears a pair of diamond earrings worth more than my house. I'm confused."
You must not have watched the video that preceded Cindy McCain's speech. I'm sure she has donated more money to charitable causes than you will ever make in your life. Check out American Voluntary Medical Team, a charity she started.
True, she inherited a ton of money from her father, but she uses a lot of it for philanthropic purposes. Great example for a first lady

Anonymous said...

Um, Trophy Wife? If you're a beautiful woman, you're automatically a trophy wife? She's the one with the money. Please 'splain.

Anonymous said...

Confusion is comfortable to you, Barry. But you have now pointed out the fact that benevolence has nothing to do with jewelry. A film clip on Mrs. Obama's benevolent acts would be quite short, and she has far less children to entertain. I think she cares...she just doesn't get it.

Anonymous said...

Should be adopting little American babies , those Publicans love America so much

Anonymous said...

At least Cindy McCain shares her money with her family (provides housing) and donates money to children worldwide. Obama has never sent a penny to his brother in Africa living in a shack. His church preaches to the poor of Chicago and the money collected from them is spent on building the minister a mansion. Why does Obama not adopt a child like the McCains have? We have his number!

Anonymous said...

No one should be ashamed of their success. Cindy McCain's family started from scratch and earned every dime so she certainly has no reason to be ashamed about it. All those liberal Hollywood types and all their BLING certainly aren't. They flaunt their bling all over the place and mostly use their money on themselves, unlike Cindy McCain. Her being a beautiful woman does not make her a "trophy wife" either as you state BG, since she and McCain were married 30 years ago when he himself was quite a catch for her too.

Anonymous said...

Hey Barry, when is the last time you adopted a disadvantaged child?
Your mindset is pathetic.

Anonymous said...

Stupid is not a word that comes to mind when I think of you in regards to politics.

Naive is one though.

True believer is two words together that might also characterize you.

wordkyle said...

1019 - You might want to lower your expectations for Obama on the debates. He didn't do very well without a teleprompter at the Saddleback church. McCain, on the other hand, showed a fine grasp of his information and even knew his own beliefs (BHO had trouble with that one.)

Barack Obama on his opinion as to when life begins: "That's above my pay grade." Moving to the center for the general election is often difficult for hardcore Leftists.

7:47 - Maybe you should check facts before your vehement rages.'
We Democrats adopt children, too.
However, the purpose of adoption should not to be as a favor to the child. Most people adopt out of love - not out of pity. I hope this is right for all parties.

Anonymous said...

Hey 9:21, harder to find an American baby to adopt since you "Choicers" are killing them faster than they can get born. The hate coming out of the left right now is not righteous indignation, or even sharks smelling the blood in the water. It is the fear of a cornered dumb animal, realizing that it has no escape.

Anonymous said...

My favorite part of McCain's speech was when he said he was all out of bubble gum.

Anonymous said...

Compared to starving folks in Bangladesh, whether you have fancy diamond earrings or are just an average blue collar American doesn't make much difference. Both have infinitely more wealth than a poor person in Bangladesh. So for an average American to criticize a wealthy American for talking about the poor while demonstrating personal wealth doesn't jive. If you're ten thousand times richer than a third world beggar, not much leeway there to be critical of someone a million times richer.

Maybe Obama will invent the internet between now and November....uh...wait a sec...

Double Fake Al Gore

Anon 9:22 -- did you find out what the heck is going on Small Town America Decatur Texas on Saturday night? Maybe it has something to do with the rodeo?

I don't understand your confusion. Diamonds of that grade are very good investments considering the devaluation of the dollar.

But of course, you didn't mention how much philanthropic work she does...

Wordkyle, Nobody is pointing out that Obammy even mispoke when he was asked about when does a child have rights. He meant to say "That's above my gay parade."

The sign WAS photoshopped. There is am man who is a congressman from Wisconson's 7th district. His name is Dave Obey. His signs had his name on them with an exclamation point.

And the ironic thing is that Mr. Obey is a Democrat. So...who is OBEYing here?
