Random Thursday Morning Thoughts

- It seems Mark Cuban fired Avrey over the phone. Stay classy.
- Fox 4's Megan Henderson looks extremely hot this morning. (And there are new T-shirts with her image on them.)
- The trooper killed in East Texas (and who left behind a five month old baby) was shot (allegedly) by a former cop.
- The commercials for the ant killer, which try to recreate youtube videos of projects gone bad, are not funny and poorly produced.
- Fox 4 just told me there are now 40 million Hispanics in the country (or 15%). In Texas, they make up 36%. This will be the last day those numbers/percentages are that "small".
- Today is the five year anniversary of "Mission Accomplished." Uh, not so much.
- Speaking of W, did you see his Jessica Simpson joke yesterday as the NY Giants visited the White House? He had that weird smirk which we haven't seen in a while.
- I've begun to watch In The Valley of Elah. So far, it's great.
- I'm 80% through with the 30 hour audio book, The Fountainhead. I don't think I "get it."
- LBJ's presidential recordings from 1968 will be released today. If you've ever heard excerpts of some of the previous releases, give 'em try. He was smooth but, man, he could bear down on someone to get what he wanted.
- Saw a brief moment of Deal Or No Deal last night. That show is like a bullet to the brain.
- Matt Lauer is in Istanbul, Turkey. (But the intro of Meredith, Al, and Ann screaming "Where in the world is Matt Lauer?" is getting very irritating.)
- Don't see any updates in the Star Telegram about the bad wreck yesterday at the Devon Energy plant.
- I almost ran over lawyer Mike Simpson on the courthouse square this morning.

I guess history lessons on the Sudenland, the Shoshoni kicking the Apache off the Texas plains, or the conflict in the former Yugoslavia has taught our leaders nothing. Throughout history, ethnic groups have migrated and fought and changed our world. America does not carry an exemption. The America of your ancestors will not be the country of your decendents. To the whore builders of Wise County - Keep building those McMansions with slave labor from Mexico. You could not deliver the same square footage of home using American citizens, paying a decent wage and providing access to health insurance.

Take a look at Oklahoma unemployment rates since their anti-illegal legislation was passed! The numbers should not be a surprise.

Of all the girls you've posted on here, I believe I like this girl the best:)

Do you know the difference between a dead lawyer on the highway and a dead snake on the highway? There will be skid marks in front of the snake.

Maybe the mission has been accomplished since we've not been attacked again on our soil since September 11, 2001?

I think the ant commercials are funny. And Barry...when you're shopping for that next audiobook try "Water for Elephants", written by Sara Gruen...great read, or listen.

The first thing I thought when I saw that animals picture was,"He looks like a cop or Marine or something."

I'm listening to "Green Eggs and Ham" on an audio book.

I don't get it, either.

Why won't he just try the green eggs and ham? I mean, how bad could they be?

So, don't ruin it for me. I'm about halfway through and I'm dying to know whether he actually trys them or not. I should be done by the end of the weekend.

The "mission accomplished" photo shoot was just an attempt to politicize a war. Bush deserves the embarassemnt that ensues each time that photo is replayed.

Attacks on our soil are not over, let's hope we foil more than those that succeed, and hope we don't don't loose our freedoms in the name of fighting terror.

Bush has undoubtedly done some good things particularly in realigning the FBI to focus on homegrown terror....and he deserves credit for that mission accomplished.

What do you have if you have 30 lawyers buried up to their necks in concrete? - Not enough concrete.

Why don't sharks attack lawyers? - Professional courtesy.

What do you call a room full of honest lawyers? TRICK QUESTION! THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH HONEST LAWYERS TO FILL A ROOM.

8:56 makes it sound like we were being attacked constantly before September 11, then, after that date, everything has been peachy.

We hadn't been attacked on September 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, etc., or many days before that, either.

If "Mission Accomplished" is bullshitting Conservatives that Bush is a great president and leader and they (GOP) believe it, then it is "Mission Accomplished."

The Democrates control both houses of Congress. They are in charge and can pull the troops from Iraq if they want to. They fund the war, period. The president asks for permission to wage war and gets it from the Democrate Congress. Stop blaming him for what he does after receiving a voting majority from them.

Scientist have started using lawyers in place of rats for research. The scientist don't get as attached to the lawyers and there are some things that even rats won't do.

1230 - The World Trade Center was bombed in 1993, and American targets were attacked by the emboldened enemy -- militant Islamic terrorists -- pretty much yearly from then until the attacks on 9/11.

This is makes it apparent that Clinton's philosophy of using the judicial system to fight terrorism did not, and does not work.

A big reason that we have not been attacked in another 911 style attack is because the enemy has concentrated their man power elsewhere - Iraq. We have a killing field there instead of trying to hunt them down within our own country. I credit our leaders with the smart to figure that one out. Bring the troops home and the enemy will follow.

So...the invasion of Iraq has protected us from another 9/11? Really? We're safer now? That's awesome! FYI, there are other news sources out there besides Fox. Just sayin'...
