I think if Decatur wins next week, they go to the State Tournament as part of the final four. I really don't remember that happening before. (They will play Cooper who won over Andrews, 4-1, 1-2, 5-3). And I thought "Cooper" meant "Abilene Cooper" but I think that's wrong. There's a Cooper out in East Texas, and I think that's the opponent.
Edit: Or, as an astute commenter pointed out, it could be Lubbock Cooper. (The Denton Record Chronicle has they story of Decatur's win here.)

Definitely Lubbock Cooper that the Eagles are playing. The Cooper, mentioned in East Texas, is a 2A school and Abilene Cooper is a Region 1 5A school that is dropping to 4A next year. Also, the Eagles will have to win the series with Cooper and then beat the winner of the Snyder - Canyon series to win the 3A Region 1 Championship and advance to the state tournament.

3:13 is probably just a sore loser who has seen his team get the same "S**t" kicked out of them on numerous occasions by Decatur in the past. As a former student in Paradise, Bridgeport and teacher in Decatur, I tend to root for any Wise County school that is in the playoffs as it positively reflects on that school and the county.

The Eagles are playing great basebal right now and at this time of year anybody can win. I for one will be supporting this teams' efforts. Good Luck Eagles! Give the Lubbock Cooper your best effort.

Coronado is the location of where Cooper and Andrews played. The UIL site hasn't been updated with Cooper being the winner as of yet.
Finally, a season in which the local sports scene ends with baseball (Decatur) and not softball (Northwest).

I remember when there was real,stuffed Bald Eagle in the library of the junior high in Decatur. Its head was turned to one side and its wings were outstretched like on the US Seal.
When I was in college I mentioned this to a guy in the biology department who was studying raptors. His school was the Bobcats in Arkansas and they had a stuffed Bobcat in a trophy case. Did Bridgeport ever have a stuffed Bull?
It was ratty and dirty but,it was really real and I'm really old and dodder on about things that make no sense.
