Why is that question even relevant to a Presidential debate? It has nothing to do with the candidate's ability to govern and make decisions that are good for the citizens of our country. Sure, it's good for someone to have faith and morals, but why would that question "tell us everything we need to know" about a candidate? Some people just don't make sense. Religious zealotry never a good thing.
Just one more example of a bunch of liars wanting your vote so they can line their pockets with your money so they can live a lifestyle you and I can't because they have all our money.
For a country that was founded as a Nation under God, I would think that it would be important to know our future President's stance and his/her beliefs. It's especially important since the vast majority of Americans believe in God. You would think that most of us would not want someone who... let's say worships the devil. God is and should always be our foundation and the most important thing in this country, as God is the backbone and soul of this country and because of his blessings, we as a nation have been blessed.
'Think frustrated' - You too can be forgiven for not having God at the center of your life. He will save you and you can have eternal life. I truly hope you find that He is and should be the most important thing in your life.
And all the liberal weenies refuse to go on FOX for a debate because they will be asked really tough questions and their feet held to the fire. What a bunch of losers.
10:55 For a bunch of liars he sure did know what he was talking about!! What a concept....you get the simple things first then move on the the more complicated things...who woulld have thought? And I wonder why in "In God We Trust" is disappearing from everything this country stand for.
And Hitlary even gets to plant her operatives on a Republican debate. Now you know why it's called the Clinton News Network. Clearly CNN has a democratic agenda. Now can you say liberal bias?
To Anon 11:06 - I never said whether or not God was central in my life. Please don't make assumptions that I'm not religious or faithful just becuase I'm not Christian.
I just don't think that whether or not a politician believes that a certian thing is relevant (such as whether or not every word in the bible is true) has anything to do with his or her ability to govern effectively. That's kind of the principal behind the separation of church and state. Those types of things aren't supposed to have any bearing on how we are ruled.
Sure, I can agree with you that we wouldn't want someone who was amoral, or a Satanist as our president, but I don't think that religious faith should have any bearing on whether or not someone would be a good leader. Those are personal beliefs. The President's job is to act in the best interests of the country, not in his own best interests. That's probably the biggest problem with politics today. Our representatives and elected officials forget that they are supposed to be acting in our interests, not their own.
I like the question no matter how irrelavent it is to governing a country. With their answers, bullshitted up and the whole nine yards, I still feel like I get a glimpse of how much a religous zealot each candidate is.
The last thing I want in a president when it comes down to using the red telephone is a guy that needs to read scripture, consult a holy man, or pray. I want a confident, cold-hearted SOB with ice water running through his veins.
Just for fun please answer: when a Jew prays to God is it the same one as the Christian or Mormon one? When a Muslim prays to God is it the same on (they use much of the same Old Testament). So when someone claims this nation was founded under God - just which one is it?
Romney is just pandering again. Of course he doesn't believe every word. No one who actually reads the Bible (and has a brain) believes every word. Geeeze, the Mormons even had to add their own book 'cause God or God's scribes didn't get it all included the first time.
A huge, huge majority of Wise Countians would have to say "no"...because one of the very first things the Bible indicates, as clearly as it possibly could, is that Adam was NOT the first man. There were men and women long before Adam. Yet try telling that to any Wise County churchgoer.
Huckabee may sound good at times, but watch him carefully. In dealing with other countries, we need a leader who can repond and interact with people of all beliefs. We are no longer the country of power with all bowing before us.
I feel that it is important that our country is ruled by someone who believes The Bible. Maybe he could make our country more moral and Christian, and get rid of all the Infidels who don't believe. And those "so-called" American's who just want to do as they please and not Obey the Word of God. We have had enough of San Francisco Liberals who want The Troops to surrender and die, and the ones those people who have perverted relations and ingest the evil substances, for their own "fun". This is killing our Country and The Troops.
We need to bring this Country back under God, so that we can defeat the Terrorists, and stop having hurricanes. Thank you.
To 11:27... *OTFLOLHysterically* I thought THAT is what the United States got when "W" was elected. Perhaps, "W" having been an early sinner and not drinking the Christian Kool-Aid until he was an adult was not ENOUGH to do the trick. *;)
11:27, I like your comment...mostly because I can't tell if you're joking or serious. If it's meant to be funny, you're sly and witty. If it's meant to be serious, you are dim-witted and scare me.
4:06 - I see that no religious experts have attempted to describe just which God it is that we need to honor and follow. Muslims, Mormons and Mennonites all pray to "God" but seem to have different phone numbers fo Him.
Anon 4:06 & 10:23 They all pray to 'a' God but most of them define God differently. Even Christianity has varying definitions as to who and what God is. I mean, my goodness, take a read through the Nicene Creed and Athanasian Creed (which have the greatest number of inconsistencies and contradictions ever expressed in so few words).
The question posed could be a problem to answer. The 'every word' part is problematic. For instance the Bible says no man can see God, yet has many instances where individuals did see God. So, which does one believe when trying to believe the Bible?
Hillary had a little session with Joel Olsteen but you must have forgot Pat Robertson is backing Rudy. Or you can only remeber things about Hillary and dems maybe.

Oh no, Barry!! You're going to stir up a firestorm of controversy again!! You ol' troublemaker, you.
Say what you want, he hit the nail right smack dab on the head!
Guiliani is a tap dancing WEASEL.
Romney SCARES the pudding out of me.
Huckabee gave the BEST and most ACCURATE answer.
Romney reminds me of Lyle Waggoner. Remember him on the Carol Burnett show? Vain and self centered?
Bad question. A person's personal beliefs is none of anybody else's business.

Its a room FULL of BULLSH!TERS
Believe me. You don't want a Mormon as your president. Go live in Utah for a month and you'll see why.
Some people are too slick...The preacher man is going to save you from yourself. Scary

Why do they always have the crazy people coming from Texas? That guy was a LOON!!

I wonder of Barak "Yo Mama" Obama will be asked the same question in the Democrats next debate?
Go, Brother Huckabee!!
Seriously, his answer was the best. Frank and insightful. I just like listening to him talk too.
Romney started off terrifically, but then faltered at being hit with the specifics.
Rudy, Rudy, Rudy...you're sounding more and more like a true-blue politician. Beware....

So they believe........ my bible says it is complete and needs no additions (like the book of Morman)
Think adultery is mentioned a few times.
Thou shall not lie, steal, and the list goes on
Oh, and that pesky little scripture that say those "wanting to be first, will be last."
Heres a poll:
Most crazy religion is
a) Mormon
b) Assembly of God
c) Mennonites
d) Jehovah's Witness
e) Amish
f) Pentecostal
Vote now!

I thought Ann Coulter cleared this all up when she so willingly let the world know that Christians were perfected Jews.
3:29, that's a rather sh*tty poll.

Huckabee's brilliant
Think Frustrated, you truly are a thinker. I hope that all the thinkers show up at election time. You are needed.

Religious Zealot Rule and Government has really worked well in those Middle East countries. They can work as well here in the United State also.
Why aren't they asked softball questions like the liberal weenies are asked? Boxers or breifs? Diamonds or pearls?

And some hear God speak. George W. Bush said that God told him to invade Iraq. Never found out if anybody else overheard the conversation or not.
It is really sickening how political candidates use religion to promote THEMSELVES.
Hillary had a little session with Joel Olsteen - both were so "excited" to be together. What a pair they make.
So now Brothah Olsteen can brag that his ministry will be packing in more sinners of the liberal persuasion.
It is all a joke of epic proportions.
Hey 9:44 did you read that Oral Robert's son heard God speak also?
What a tangled mess ORU is in due to these self righteous do gooders.
And what is worse - folks still buy into it.
Yep, send money.
Hillary had a little session with Joel Olsteen but you must have forgot Pat Robertson is backing Rudy. Or you can only remeber things about Hillary and dems maybe.
