From the Update: "In the biggest of the minor accidents, six cars collided one mile north of Decatur on southbound U.S 81/287. According to DPS troopers, a drunk driver caused a chain reaction of fender benders that tied up traffic for almost an hour."
It was all those "big city slickers" heading back to the city after the Thanksgiving holiday. Have you ever noticed something? So many people living in big cities look "down their noses" at us "country bumpkins", but when a holiday comes up, they can't leave their big cities fast enough ("rats leaving a sinking ship" comes to mind)! Pay attention to the direction of traffic at the beginning of, and at the end of, a holiday.
