One of my nephews( he's in band with them) just received a text stating that one of the boys has passed and the other one is on life support.

This still is very vague info. Were the two boys and the mother all in one car together and all from Decatur? What are their names?

The other vehicle's driver...was he/she from Decatur also? Name?

I know the names of the victims but I will not give out their names. That would be disrespectful to the victims and their families/friends. The mother and 2 teens were in the same vehicle and hit head on with the other vehicle. The mother died on impact and the youngest died in surgery around 7:00p.m. The other teen is on life support at the moment. I don't know the condition of the other driver but I think he/she is in critical condition. School will be weird without them tomorrow.

Were both of the boys students at DHS? Our prayers go out to all involved in this tragedy!

Yes, both were students - nice talented young men.

Pray for all.

Highway 380 between Decatur and Denton is very dangerous and has needed widening for a long, long time. Apparently, there are some real dumb-ass persons in charge of making highway construction decisions.

Mom and her two boys were traveling together, another car came into their lane and hit them head on. Both boys were band students at DHS. Mom died on impact. The youngest son passed away late afternoon during surgery and the oldest had surgery and is in ICU still critical. Please pray for this young man and all the DHS students as they gather this morning to comfort each other.

MAY EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN SADLY EFFECTED BY THIS TRAGEDY SEEK COMFORT THROUGH OUR LORD AND SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST. MY PRAYERS ARE WITH ALL THE YOUNG FRIENDS AND FAMILIES. GOD BLESS, AND LEAN ON EACH OTHER AS YOU LEAN ON THE LORD...

It was a sad day at DHS without these friends. I know the update has posted the names of the victims. For alot of you the names will not sound familiar, but you will miss this great mom and her sons. Especially this Christmas when you are wondering where is the horse carriage lady and her horses? During homecoming games she and her horses carry the crowned Queen around the field to wave at all, it will be no more. Always there to help, support and give ideas to any and all things to do with kids. Candace Clark, you will be missed so very much. May God keep and hold you and your youngest son in his loving arms.

To 5:11, Thanks for sharing that with us. May God hold them in his loving arms and heal the other son. What a sad situation.

9:49 - Yes, 380 is a mess. The road from Decatur to Bridgeport is over 1 year late in reconstruction. The project manager, Bill Nelson, makes continuous excuses why this is reasonable but I just don't buy it. The delays may be inconvenient for some but deadly for others. I think this TxDOT guy, Nelson, should be required to attend all accidents and funerals due to problems on this stretch of 380 until it is finished.

4:29, it's bad driving at the wrong time, not the road's fault. If it were the road, then everyone coming through there would have an accident. There are countless bad curves and unsafe passing areas in Wise County. Don't put this on the people that build and are responsible for the roads. Put it on irresponsible driving, people who are in a rush, drunk, drive bad vehicles with poor brakes and tires..you name it.
