Getting a very sketchy report of "a man in a house in Bridgeport who is shooting." Police are there.

Edit: The Update says one woman has been shot and police are searching for the suspect.
Edit: Sheesh. The lack of info is killing me. But I'm out of touch for a couple of hours as I run to Fort Worth. Someone tell The Messenger to give us new info.

Edit: It appears the injured woman is Mary Boyd.
Edit: Getting reports the man has been found dead in the home. This is consistent with officers earlier hearing what were possibly gunshots from the house.

A few minutes ago there were approx. 7 cop cars go by 380 (jail) with lights flashing. The cars were not WC police cars.

I'll say prayers for the lady victim and I'll feel sorry for the family when they tell me that they tried to have the old man committed and failed after the first attempt at her life. Short of that, the family will have to live with the consequences of no action.

It's ashame that a few people in this town have no compassion for others. You people are quick to judge as long as it's not happening in your family. These people are wonderful people and they have had a lot to deal with lately. You have no idea what this family has been going through. You have no idea what the family members did to try and keep everyone involved safe. For people to speak ill of someone who has passed away is digusting, regardless of what was done. He was still someones father, and grandfather.

I saw a Bridgeport police car over by the city park today about 3:00 -two officers were inside and they had the stereo blasting "Metal Health", with the windows rolled down. One was playing drums on the dashboard and the other was playing air guitar; both were headbanging to the beat of the song.

They did not try to pretend it did not happen, or sweep it under the rug the during the first trouble,they took it head on, they were getting him the help he needed. They did everything they were suppose to do for him and at the same time also taking care of his wife. And helping them both everyday. Taking care of every one of his needs. The only thing they are guilty of is loving their father and grandfather.

You people should be ashamed, this is a greiving family. My prayers and thoughts are with the family during this hard time. No matter what happens, like previously said Mr. Boyd was a father and was very much loved. This goes to show you what happens when you get older sometimes your mind just seems to leave. I pray for the recovery of Mrs. Boyd and for the healing of so many hearts that have been hurt today.
Oh, I'm sure his wife is grieving after he choked her into having a stroke in August and then put a cap in her ass today.

IF his family had indeed done EVERYTHING POSSIBLE to help Mr. Boyd he would have been in a facility that would have prevented Mr. Boyd from making a SECOND attempt on his wife's life and killing himself.
It is rather simple to have a doctor diagnose some type of mental deficiency/ailment of a 76 year old man who has attempted to murder his 73 year old wife and prescribe that it is in the interest of the 76 year old man's safety to be placed in a facility that would PROPERLY care for someone with age related DEMENTIA.
If you are glad you were not "born and raised here" then why are you here...if you dislike it so much, just leave, I'm sure you are not wanted here anyways! But there is better good that comes out of the county then bad, and people who are willing to make a difference...just ask some of the residents!
