While scanning the obituaries today (don't ask), I came across this sentence in the listing for Jennifer Sorrell:
Upon retiring, Jenny worked tirelessly to raise awareness of the need for [ovarian cancer] early detection, including . . . sharing her story of the life-saving foul ball off Soriano's bat.That was it. No explanation. But The Google led me to the story.

that is such a wonderful story...God has every moment of our lives planned out right down to the foul balls!! being a cancer survivor..5 years in remission not. thanks to God and Dr. K. Tibbles, and the wonderful Drs. @ M.D. Anderson.. but it is stories like these that should remind us who is STILL in ConTroL... GOD BLESS
It is a amazing story. But I can't stop from thinking it's a good thing she didn't have brain cancer.
1:54, is it really comforting to believe that God has every moment of our lives planned? I share in your joy as a survivor and the appreciation you show towards your doctors. But, according to what you said, God also planned to kill many thousands of others that went to M.D. Anderson...and all the children that die in car accidents...and those that died in Iraq...or Vietnam...or anywhere else. So, God plans foul balls? God plans for the Rangers to be horrible every year? God plans for the number of times children pick their noses?
If that's true, why do we do cancer research...or perform operations...or take medication? We have free will and the opportunity to learn more and more about the wonderful world that God created. God gave us a brain and the ability to use it.

MAYBE YOU SHOULD GET TO KNOW HIM LIKE I HAVE AND BATTLE THE CANCER BEFORE YOU CAST DOUBT ON WHAT HE IS AND IS NOT IN CONTROL OF. AGAIN, GOD HAS THE FINAL SAY ON ALL THAT WE DO.
