Now That's What I Call A Tease

I dog the Messenger when it needs dogging. But I'll praise it when it has some good stuff. Check out this sports column tomorrow by Robert Morgan. Definitely good stuff.

Edit: Story here.

Just read the story, I thought it was ironic in the way he worded the part about the Odessa official spitting his hamburger out when confronted with his lie. Good story though, sounds like D'town almost got screwed! I am glad the coaches stuck with there defense.

No, the Messenger gets no credit for this one, either. Puns are really not ever funny, and they drown the paper in them.

Furthermore, this is more proof that Morgan is a horrid writer. This is definitely a story that needed telling, but choose anybody else but Morgan or Christina Lane to write it. Editorials belong on the Opinion page, not in the Sports section. Just pure trash.

Another thing I forgot:

Low humidity is a bad thing? Sweat evaporates quicker in low humidity, you moron.

..."their" defense, sorry for the bad grammer!

the first thing i read in any paper is the sports, so if there is a sports column, editorial or whatever newspaper people call it, i wanna see it in the sports section. FW and Dallas News does the same thing, so why would the decatur paper be any different?
Low humity is a bad thing when you are a teenager running in that hot weather. the body does not know when it it overheating. I coach at decatur, and they made the annoucement at ratliff stadium every 30 minutes that it is low humidity and that athletes must drink extra water.
Good point in your story Morgan, and thank you for not only coming to Odessa to support our decatur kids, but for pointing out the biggest (and saddest) thing to happen at the regional meet.

you just called someone a moron for something you know nothing about? I think you need to read up on the dangers of low humidity when running in it. it is VERY dangerous and very decieving to the body. it's someone like you that would have heat stroke or suffer from dehydration. oh wait, that would not happen because you are likely too lazy to ever run in the heat to know. DUMMY!
i think that column should had been on an opinion page too, but i found it to be a great story and im glad mr. morgan told us about it. i would had never known otherwise.

drink more water

i think you just made youself look like a moron. good thing you hide your identity. you are right --sweat does evaporate faster -- but sweat is what cools the body. therefore, if the body's cooling system is running slower because their is less sweat to cool of the body, it is more dangerous. Especially when you are a kid running in a very hot environment like west texas. Thank god we have coach reed as our trainer at DHS and not you, we would have every kid in football dropping dead of heat-related illness every august.

Trying to justify trainers in Wise County schools...please. We ran without 14 trainers in tow everywhere from El Paso to Houston and did just fine. Of course doing you own research is hard. Better get some trainers to take care of those precious babies!

that anon at 240 better not be a health teacher because you do not know the first thing about the heat dangers while running in low humidity.
where is david finfrock when you need him?

2:38...Why should this story be on the Opinion page? Robert Morgan writes about sports, so who at the WCM would be better equipped to tell this sports story? I would agree that this story is a little bit editorial in nature, but it is also sports news and based on fact....so it does have its place in the sports section of the WCM. I am glad Morgan got his messenger out....no pun intended!

He actually used the word "owned" in an article, too. It isn't a sports section, its an CounterStrike message board.

1:41PM, the difference is between birdcage liner and an actual newspaper.
