Dog Days Of Summer

Looks like we have a very reasonable resolution to the Wise County dog hoarding case. (Star Telegram story)

Thank goodness, this woman is being compelled to obtain the mental care of which she is in desperate need. However, it is a pity that the taxpayers are footing the bill for cleaning up her mess.

Get off her back! She doesn't need mental care. She only agreed to it so she could get the dogs back. If you don't know her than don't concern yourself with her business.

So..... if she only agreed to mental care in order to get her dogs back then evidently she doesn't think she has a problem.

I am sure the judge who let her out of this so easy would like to hear that.

According to the Update, she gets one dog back for now and possibly up to seven after counseling. If she wants to own more, she will have to apply for a license to run a kennel. Personally, I think the deal was fair for all. I truly think she had no intent of any harm coming to those dogs. Having said that (and please don't yell at me), someone who accumulates that many dogs and lives in the kind of condition that she lived in (pictures in the Messenger) for the sake of the dogs...something just isn't right.

Once again, I feel that if she was taking "good care" of all those dogs, there would have been no reason for the authorities to come in and take them in the first place. This action just backs up my opinion. Those that made this decision obviously saw that the dogs were not being taken care of properly, otherwise they would have given them back.

She is a sweet and kind Christian lady whose life got out of hand. I don't believe for a minute that she meant harm to these animals. I do think "something was wrong" w/her to the point that she moved out of her home and let the dogs take over.

I hope she gets the help she needs and the dogs are in good care.
