I heard some big rich person from Decatur had them made up because that Formula One track was going in around Slidell and wanted to make the Europeans feel welcome when they came to town for the races.
Just moved in to Wise County. This stuff on here is freaking me out. Witches, women hiring hit men, child porn, snipers, people faking being police to grope women. Please somebody tell me I didn't make a big mistake.
Newbie to Wise, you didn't make a mistake. The folks on here complain that the Wise County folks are hicks, weirdos, etc. (guess that includes them too), but it's a great place to live. I grew up in deep east Texas, and believe me when I say this is way better. Besides, Wise County is no different than anywhere else in that it does have some undesirables, but it's better than alot of places. Get involved, meet some people, and enjoy life here.
Newbie, believe me, YOU MADE A HUGE MISTAKE, but if you bought some property, hopefully the value will continue to rise, and you will make a healthy profit when you decide to move. Sadly, I would bet that you couldn't purchase mineral rights if you are a property owner - you'll just have to deal with the big trucks, noise and polluted water - oh well, you'll have to do that anyway. Oh yeah, did I mention all the gravel trucks? Sorry.
Squicking is allowable in Wise County too.......see B's blog about the extra head found in the car wreck. Squicking typically occurs in the Bridgeport area tho.
4:13PM - maybe you should take your computer over to the Bridgeport place and have it checked for spyware - you know, it's the repair place that runs the Bridgeport forum. I'm sure they could fix it for ya.
I am proud of these stickers whenever I see one even though I no longer live in Wise County. I am proud to be from Wise County and have one on my car even though I live in Denton County. You'd be amazed at the comments I get about that sticker. Everybody thinks its cool. I hope to move back soon.

I don't know where these stickers came from or who is responsible for them but I say thank you. I think it is a great positive thing for Wise County. Why are so many of these posts on this so negative. This is great place to live and raise a family. We should be proud of where we live and this WC sticker is a great way to show our pride in who we are and where we live. I agree, IT IS COOL.
The WC sticker is like having an address tag on your car keys. When a North Side police officer finds you passed out in a bar parking lot on Sunday morning, they know where to ship you back to.

Apparantly they have never been on a trip outside of texas??? EVERYONE else knows to ask "Where is the W C ??" to find a public toilet!!!!! NOBODY KNOWS HOW A WC HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH A SESQUICENTENNIAL -- WHATEVER THAT IS???!!!

I know both these folks and I can guarantee you both of them have travelled all over the world and know what WC stands for in the UK. But guess what-- were not in the UK, we're in the WC, TEXAS, just like the sticker SAYS on the bottom. Lighten up and stop being so sarcastic. This is a great idea and I appreciate them for doing it. And just exactly who decided WC can stand for just one thing? Why CANT it stand for WISE COUNTY in TEXAS and WATER CLOSET in the rest of the world? I think this is a very clever idea-I commend these two folks who made these. I imagine these folks knew exactly what they were doing and what they meant. A tribute to Wise County and the people in it.
GOOD POINT! These "W C" Water Closet / Public Toilet signs can be used as a TRIBUTE to pointout that Wise is the County that is used by the TRRC for the public disposal of drilling well waste in all those Injection Wells!
