Hit Me Baby One More Time

Matt Lauer interviews Britney Spears tonight on Dateline, and they've been showing some of the clips on the Today show. This girl is cooouuuuntry. This girl is a mess.

Yes, she is country. Why does anyone expect her to be otherwise? She's born and raised in Kentwood Louisiana for crying out loud. Pine trees, black top and gravel roads, and a mini-mart with two gas pumps that's next to the volunteer fire department. Three old men and a dog sit out front in partly rusted metal chairs and watch traffic go by.

Yeah, that is why you should lay off her and find another victim to pick on Barry.

Is she going to keep singing or what?

Let me get this straight...If a girl is born and raised in a small southern town by parents of modest means she should not be held to the same standards and expectations as the rest of the world? I guess that goes double for black girls who were born when blacks were terrorized and their churches were burned and there was no such thing as "the 'N' word" because blacks were openly called "niggers" by their "betters"/whites.

If Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice had been influenced by your type of thinking rather than upstanding parents who instilled in their daughter the belief and ethics of being "twice as good" as everyone else she would be sitting on a sofa eating pork rinds and drinking Big Red in Alabama.

There is nothing wrong with being "country" or "white-trash" if there is no opportunity for improvement. HOWEVER, there is something terribly WRONG when people say "leave the girl alone 'cause she don't know no better than to be what she is 'cause she's from a small town."

I expect Britney to be MORE than a white-trash, country, train wreck because she has seen and done MORE as well as has MORE opportunity to be MORE than the poor, ignorant, country girl who, nearly a decade ago, left Kentwood, Louisiana.

Once again, this is newsworthy? Hard hitting reporting from NBC. It's more important according to Matt "hair in a can" Lauer what brilliant insight this overexposed bimbo has to say than how al Qaida is beeing crushed in Iraq. Are'nt you glad we are killing them over there rather than them killing themselves over here along with thousands of innocent Americans? Wonder why people are seeking the truth in current world events from other sources than the drive by media. They just don't get it. We are on to you and don't want to hear anything you say or see you go down in flames while you carry the water for the dwindling and hypocritical liberal weenies. Hey Nancy and Harry, when are we going to see your agenda for the future that you have been promising for over 6 months. Howie Dean is spending all your money while your party disintegrates in front of everyone's eyes. Is this a great country or what? I know you don't think so, but all the rest of the majority of Americans don't think in doom and gloom.

I don't know about you, but I'm going to watch dateline tonight. I bet you all will too!! Why can't everyone get along? It's great entertainment~~

Mzchief, why should she have to meet your expectations? You've made my point. Why in the world does Britney Spears have to be this or that, when she is what she is. Other people, like Sec. Rice who is terrific, who choose to aspire to other directions...they are what they are. And that's great. Britney's not one of those types. So why is that not OK with you, or anyone else that picks on her?

In Mzchief's world, a dog barks. Until it sees a cat for the first time, and then the dog is expected to meow.

I beg to differ. In my world a dog is a dog and will forever remain a dog. HOWEVER, a dog that spends time with good people is expected to learn after a while not to bite people and pee on the rug.

Unfortunately it seems that my having the same expectations for someone like Britney seems to offend a few people who clearly think it is quite acceptable for dogs to pee on the furniture.

Just for the lot of you who have difficulty extrapolating details I will address the “cat” portion of the metaphor and clearly state that cats should also be trained to pee outdoors. It is more than just a wee bit disgusting for people to keep kitty litter pans in their homes.

Thus I do indeed expect the best out of people and animals when they spend an extended period of time with people who have standards and ideals.

You got serious problems. You showed your ass when you were so mean to nathalie. The B word comes to mind. You seem to think that your opinion is the absolute truth...your opinion doesn't mean crap!

You are not the first person to use "the 'B' word" when describing me. However, when my intellectual peers use "the 'B' word" they are referencing the word "Brilliant", when people with significantly less intellectual resources use "the 'B' word" they are usually referencing the word "Bitch" when describing a well-educated, opinionated female who also possess a comprehensive command of the written and spoken word. You have made it abundantly clear which word you are referencing.

Take comfort in knowing that when I am offered an opinion I ALWAYS consider the source, thus your crudeness has not offended me nor hurt my feelings.
