Elliott did a fine job. I haven't heard all the flack. I wonder what it is about. GO MAVS!!!!
I'm not sure either. This is a young man who has overcome a lot, has health issues still with him, was blessed with tremendous talent and now has the opportunity to use it doing what he loves. He has a heart as large as his talent, a spirit that still has difficulty believing and a fan base committed to helping, where at all possible, him achieve his dream.Go Elliott.
I think the idol contestants are under contract and are not suppose to sing until after the American Idol tour is complete...Kelly Pickler got in trouble for the same thing not long ago...
It's a difficult song to sing especially for a guy. I thought he did a great job! I love Elliott!
One radio station was dogging him over taking the song up an octive in the middle of the song. It's interesting to hear the end where the it's suposed to get really high...the land of the...free.He takes the free down because it would have been too high. He could have handled the high note had he not gone up that octive.Regardless, he still sang it beautifully!
elliott is a great singer, however, i think he would have done a better job (at least towards the end of the song) had he not added all those extra runs to the vocal.
Well I guess I am in the minority but I thought it was awful. Even worse that most who try to sing it or have to put there own alterations on it. For all the talk about a "flag burning" amendment, I think they should pass a "thou shalt not butcher the national anthem" amendment.
Lol good call. Is it still against Idol rules for contestants to sing if they have not been signed to a record deal yet? Because I know that its been rumoured that Elliot is being courted by the California based record company "The Firm" but has not yet been officially offered. In other AI related news, I found this funny Idol cartoon spoof on the net at www.WhoWillCare.net Enjoy!
They can sing at events such as this but they can't sign a recording contract until after the tour. Let's face it, it's good advertising FOR the tour. I think that AI/19 Entertainment gets first shot at a contract even then. Not sure that would be best for him unless they let him be the unique artist he is.
Elliott gave it his best. Seems his pitch prompt did not work!!! The guy is a sweetheart BUT he needs some serious TMJ and teeth work cause his face contorts when he sings and is distracting---sorta like Jim Nabors used to be. Hopefully, any company who picks him up will suggest the makeover--like Clay Aiken who truly is a handsome hunk NOW.
I thought he did a fine job - and I am not even a fan of his. Yes he was a bit off at times but he got through it and in the end the song still gave me chills - as it always does. As for Clay - WHAT did he do to himself?????? He looks like a freak of nature - EEKKKKKKKK
I saw it, I've always liked him, watched AI every episode almost, but to me, the problem was, he paused too long to start the song. The crowd affected him. They kept yelling about him singing, apparently. Before he started the song, he kept giggling - it just didn't set well with me. It should be a somber thing - you are chosen to sing the freaking National Anthem, you freaking sing it - doesn't matter what the crowd is crowing about - just my two cents worth. Oh yeah, you better hope you hit all the notes right – we know how it should be sung.
I think he was just overwhelmed by the crowd. You know if you were in that position you would want to take a minute and just soak it all in. I would.
I LOVE ME SOME ELLIOT!! LOVED HIM ON AMERICAN IDOL. He is a nice guy with a great heart who loves his mother. What a great catch. He is a great singer. Can't imagine what people would say bad about that song.
