Cue The Banjos

I always monitor the Texas prosecutors message board because they have some very interesting conversations about Texas criminal law. This question just got posted: I am taking a case to GJ [grand jury] next week where a father and his 19 year old daughter have been having consensual sex. . . . Should just dad be indicted since most people think, as the parent, he is more culpable? Should they both be indicted? And the ones of you from east Texas, don't act like this only happens in my jurisdiction! Responses should be here. And the Texas incest statute is here.

What is even scarier is that a laywer forum is on infopop. Get your own site and more secure forum software, you cheapskates.

By statute, charge both. Her defense posture is likely to be stronger, so might predict he's in big doo-doo, she probably skates. And that's probably what should happen.

Seems to me they both need to be indicted. Sounds like she knew what she was doing. 19 years old...... few drinks......consensual sex.

Wow, are the lawyers using their real names? I've already added it to my favorites list regardless. Like Bus said, they are either cheapskates or complete idiots. But, I know A LOT of complete idiots that work in various courthouses around Texas. All of us private citizens should be VERY SCARED - this internet thing has changed stuff dramatically. I keep telling them - don't go there, don't do that, but they continue to, on the internet, that is.
