While The Poor Struggle In New Orleans . . .

.... it's good to know that Houston Rockets basketball player Yao Ming signed a $75 million contract extension today. Our society is so screwed up.

He wouldn't make that much if people weren't willing to pay so much for tickets and advertising. It is like drugs and hookers, if there weren't demand there would be no supply

Now there is something we should all boycott for a day. Professional sports, hell all sports. Besides saving all the gas and money (even if the tickets are already paid for, you still spend a ton on parking and refreshments), we could send a message to these over-paid cry babies that we don't need them.

We're obsessed with sports. Reading articles from the times picayune paper today (nola.com), I noticed that one of the longest articles was the one about LSU offering to let the NO Saints play at least some of their home games there. Is this really what they need to be worrying about now?
