Thank You, Sir. May I Have Another?

The head of FEMA, Michael Brown, has appeared on TV around the clock it seems to answer questions about the government's slow response to Katrina. I don't necessarily agree with him, but I'll give him huge credit for his willingness to step up to the plate and take a verbal pounding.

Ted Kopple pounded him pretty hard last night, it really surprised me. He did not let him off the hook on any answer.

He is taking a pounding but honestly he deserves it. Koppel was right about most of it. This is what these people do for a living and they are a day late and a dollar short.

Ted Koppel used up his usefulness about 10 years ago.

Question: why is no one grilling Louisiana Governor Blanco. What has she done? She has been all over the media but gets only softball questions. I wonder why...

I just did not think that this could happen in our country. This is a disgrace. And have you noticed that they (the mayor and the FEMA guy) are not in New Orleans....

He is a stupid bitch

He is an incompetent jackass, another Bush crony. He needs to get the hell out of the way and let someone that knows what they are doing step in.

This was a humongous undertaking and few people could have handled it. Not one person could handle it alone and they would only have been as strong as their weakest length.
At one time you had:
-efforts to stop the breach
-rescue efforts to save the stranded
-thousands of people in local shelters that needed attention
-evacuation of hospitals
-setting up shelters outside NO to evacuate people to plus transportation to get them there

Then to add to the mess you had:
-local residents bitching and moaning because they were hot and hungry
-local residents looting, raping and killing each other
-local residents shooting at people there to help
-local police walking off the job
-news media asking stupid questions every two minutes

During 9/11 you had one major focus - get the people out. There were tons of NY people already there ready and able to help. I don't remember hearing one of the rescued people during 9/11 saying what took you so long.
