I Wonder How This Will Go Over In Decatur?

Starbucks is getting a bit edgy with it's new campaign of "The Way I See It" which includes slogans on its cups. (Click photo to enlarge). A list of articles dealing with the subject is here.

I can see it now, a big brawl in the parking lot of Whataburger and Starbucks. The old timers around here are not going to like that - it could get ugly.

Thats awesome!!!! I think its great. Who cares if the old timers don't like it. If they had any idea how many gay people already live in Decatur, they probably would move.

Yeah, thats right....there's gay people already living in Decatur.

Let's have a parade!!!!!

Aren't we progressive?

WCM has devoted 6 front pages to a gay woman dying of cancer and no one got fit to be tied over that. Who knows maybe Wise County isn't a bunch of rednecks after all???

Anonymous said...

Maybe a bunch of pansies. New series for WCM:Queer Eye for the Decatur guy

A lot of us have suspected all along....

I'm tired of this crap being flaunted in our face everwhere we turn. Television, radio, music, books, magazines, and now cups for coffee. When will this agenda of theirs end?

Anonymous said...

i'm a lesbian in a man's body, does that count?

Anonymous said...

so all the gays live in decatur only? wow

Anonymous said...

Yes, all gays live in Decatur. You are correct.

Can I just get a cup of coffee without getting peoples personal issues thrown in my face!!!

My only regret is that I have to hear and read this stuff almost everyday!

Get over it! Some people will accept gays and some will not!!!

No move on, thank you!!!

Anonymous said...

m&m - I agree!!! Everywhere you look somebody is telling you that being gay is okay!!! I don't think so. Maybe someone should read the Bible and stop trying to take the Lord's word out of everything that we do!

Anonymous said...

now i know where to live to find a threeesome

Nobody is forcing you to read the cup. Most people around here can't read in the first place. The cardboard cup surrounds will cover the text on the cup.

Nobody is forcing you to get coffee from Starbucks. You have poor taste if you do. Just go get some from a gas station before heading to your local lynching.

You can change the channel on the TV or radio. It even turns off! That is if you could fish the remote control out from your rolls of blubber.

I would love to see what all you liberal dems would do if Starbucks was putting Bible verses on their cups. Now that would really get your goat!

Anonymous said...

Why? They are a private corporation, they can put whatever they want on their cups. If you feel so strongly that Bible verses should be there, contact Starbucks and pay for the campaign. Sometimes works of fiction can be amusing.

Anonymous said...

I don't read the bible, go to Starbucks or think being gay is normal. Un-fortunately a lot gays feel the need to be treated as normal people and our loving country gives them that right just and it gives those whacko anti-war dems (demonstrators or democrats, your choice) to protest in Crawford. There used to be a norm in this country but everyone finds the need to push their issue just to get attention.

I have always wondered how much crud they took in Wise County. This is was in the update today.

MEETING — Wise County Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) will meet Saturday, Sept. 3, at 11 a.m. For information and location, send an e-mail to wisecountypflag@aol.com or call the PFLAG hotline at (940) 683-5261.

thanx for the info

PFLAG? Don't they mean FAG meeting?

When you must recruit rather that reproduce you must know that something in nature itself is trying to tell you something.

The planet is overcrowded in the first place. And if no more breeding means no more people like the ones that have posted comments here, I'm all for it.

Gay people only needs Jesus, He loves them but, its not natural, Just read Romans 1 Love the sinner but hate the Sin.

Anonymous said...

I am not gay, nor do I support the gay movement. But, for those stiff minded wise county individuals. Do you really think there were no gay people 2,000 years ago? Look at the middle east-people are still having sex with dudes. To them it is not weird, it is just pleasure. These are the same people who have been mimicking life of those for thousands of years. It is like one of those religious questions you have to ask.. Was Jesus white? Was Jesus black? Did Jesus ever have sex with a man-considering most men were back then.

why is it all about gay men here? are lesbians ok. if so, i just want a women to join me and my ... we live in decatur, afterall.

Anonymous said...

wow, we start of with a cup of coffee and look where we are now.

All you gay haters would be surprised if you knew how many of your close friends and neighbors are secretly gay or bisexual. People do some freaky s**t behind closed doors, and you never hear about it. It can include mayors, city councilmen, law enforcement officers, clergy members, schoolteachers, etc.

How many of you even know someone who is openly gay? Like really know them? If not, I would encourage you to meet and get to know someone who is gay. I think that you will find that they are decent people who deserve respect just like everyone else. What they do may be wrong....but you are wrong for judging them, that is God's job, not yours. If they choose to sin, let them sin, but you don't have to be mean and say hateful things because of it.

By the way, before you assume it, I am not gay myself.

If these people railing about gay people actually had sex once in awhile, they wouldn't be so uptight. I can hear 25,000 hands fapping to the Jessica Alba picture posted tonight.

I'm in agreement with the previous blogger.

Another thing, why don't all you conservative right wing christian bible thumpers focus on another sin besides homosexuality? Why do people protest over homosexuality but don't protest over other sins like adultery??? Adultery is everywhere and is arguably more predominant than homosexuality. Adultery is a ten commandment which last time I checked, breaking a ten commandment was the worst type of sin you can commit.

I don't understand how you people can pick your sins. Maybe because you are so uncomfortable with your own sexuality that you feel the need to criticize someone elses?

Goodness...interesting to see how riled people get over "hot topics." Starbucks should keep its sex to itself and lower the prices for the Mocha Frappucino.

Was it just me or did anyone else notice the hotline number for PFLAG is a B'Port #. Does that mean the gays & lesbians live in Decatur, but their friends and folks live across Big Sandy or just the hotline operators live over there? Just curious.

I guess you were looking up the phone in Decatur, right?

Anonymous said...

guess that means all the queers are in bridgeport....afterall, it is home of the sissies.

duh

I don't know why if you denounce homosexuality you are charged with judging someone. If I say it was wrong for someone to steal a car, I'm just stating a fact. It's the same thing by stating homosexuality is wrong. And where do you get the idea that we hate gays. Isn't that making a judgement as well? And why would you think we think it is a new thing and didn't exist 2000 yrs. ago? Hello, if it was denounced in the new testament, that means it existed 2000 yrs. ago and it was denounced as a sin in the old testament in the law of moses, so it existed 5000 yrs. ago as well. And adultery is still denounced just as much as it always has been.

In response to m&m...You cannot compare homosexuality and stealing a car. Homosexuality occurs between two consenting individuals. Stealing a car occurs between one consenting individual (the thief) and one unconsenting individual (the victim). There is no innocent victim in homosexuality. So your point is invalid.

And yes, a lot of you do seem to have hatred towards gays. I've seen a lot of "burn the fags" posters in my day.

You're missing my point on the whole adultery thing....where are the protesters??? Why aren't Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson ranting and raving about people cheating on their spouses??? Why does the website www.godhatesfags.com (which is sponsored by a Baptist Church) exist but www.gothatesadulterers.com or godhatesthosewhobearfalsewitnessagainstthyneighbor.com not exist???

Do you get it now???

There's something distasteful about men engaged in the act of sucking the reproductive juices from each other or finding it necessary to thrust their appendages into the excrementory orfice of another injecting said substance into an area infested with bacteria, bile and foul odors.

Anonymous said...

Wow didn't know that there was a website godhatesfags.com Well I can tell you God does not hate fags! I wouldn't call the fags. you can call thew gay or whatever my bible says to love your neighbor as yourself! Matthew 22:39
once again Love the sinner hate the sin. I know some people get this wrong.
But Romans 1:20 says that are without excuse, v22 professing to be wise they became fools. vr 25 says that exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator. v26 women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. vr 27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which is due.this is talking about Homosexual desire is seen as sinful in God's eyes. It is a rebellion against God. Like ALL SIN IS. God doesn't grade sin on a curve, one sin is as bad as another. So if you are sinning repent stop now, Thats why Jesus came so we can be righteous in His sight, its all based on what Jesus did for us! where the danger comes in is when you know the truth and keep on sinning anyway. Like i said love the sinner hate the sin!I judge no one! only God is to Judge. But Jesus did tell us to be fruit inspectors!

In response to bigcatdaddy: If you look at stealing and homosexuality in a criminal way, you are correct. However, I'm talking about them both being a violation of God's laws. They are each a sin and thus they are both wrong and stating that they are each wrong does not make that a judgement, but a fact.

I understand what you are saying about some folks hating gays and no doubt there are some that do. But my point is, that just because someone such as myself denounces homosexuality does not put me in the same category as those that may hate gays. I don't hate them, I put their sin in the category of other sins like adultery, stealing, lying etc. I do think there is an aggressive opposition to the gays because of their aggressive agenda to achieve acceptance of their lifestyle.

I read an article awhile back about a gay man marrying a straight woman and then disclosing later that he was gay. I would say that this was a person who was an innocent victim of homosexuality.

P.S.
I didn't read this article in the WCM.

Hey I heard once that some gay people try to cover their homosexuality by professing that homosexuality and other non conventional sex acts are a sin. You know kind like how Jimmy Swaggart talked about adulterer and homosexuals before he got caught with the prostitute.

Anonymous said...

Posted #39 must really hate blowjobs. Of course if he has ever had one in the first place.

Remember, sodomy is illegal in Texas, kids. That means oral sex is off the menu. Doesn't matter if you're gay or straight.

bigcatdaddy said...

I'm not so sure acceptance is exactly what gays are looking for. They fully understand that their lifestyle is considered socially unacceptable to some people. I think that they are more looking at it as an equal rights issue. (Like was said in a previous post....get to know a gay person, like, really get to know them) Just because we allow them to have the same rights doesn't mean we condone their behavior. Think about it, you aren't going to completely stamp out homosexuality, as much as you would like to. It just ain't gonna happen.

bigcatdaddy said...

To the moron before my last post:

The Texas sodomy law was struck down on November 18, 2003 by the supreme court. If you don't believe me look at http://www.cnn.com/2003/LAW/06/26/scotus.sodomy/

Check your sources before you spout off next time.
