That's sad, but couldn't ABC wait for 2-3 minutes. Was it that necessary to to broadcat right in the middle of the Aggie game? That's crazy.
You know.... there ARE more important things than football....
Damn, You are one sad dude/red neck chick. The Aggies suck anyway.
Whoa! This post is about the passing of a longtime jurist......not about football! The chief justice may not have been a favorite of everyone but you have to admire his determination to stay the course(albeit, his course) until the end.
Will he be buried in his Gilbert & Sullivan impeachment robe?
What if Terry Schiavo had lived in New Orleans?
It is true, there are more important things than football. However, he wasn't any more important than the next guy. It doesn't matter if your football team wins or loses. You still want to watch the outcome. If it were your favorite team, you'd be just as frustrated regardless of whether or not you'll admit it.
I do think this guy was more important than the next guy and if you don't think so you are not very enlightened. His death is going to have a significant impact on the country and it's judicial system. Get your priorities right. I would agree it wouldn't make much difference if they had waited til a better time to announce it or maybe just run a line across the bottom of the screen but to say he was just any other guy is incorrect.
Oh, let the "games" begin.
My husband was watching the game and his exact words were, "There are going to be a bunch of mad people." When I asked him why he told me they broke in with the news in the last 2 minutes of the Aggie game. It is a little dis-heartning to watch all of any show and miss the last 2 minutes. That station just wanted to try and be the first to get the news out. Knowing many Aggies - I would guess that they would have been just as happy to have heard the news about the Surpreme Justice 2 minutes later. But UT / OU / Tech /etc. fans would have all felt the same way.
oops to the spelling police - i had a typo! Sorry
