Local Tie

Odd: This was a Intoxication Manslaughter case and he was headed to work on a "construction job" in Bridgeport. (Story.) Edit: My Random Thoughts got me so worked up I can't read -- it was the victim who was headed to Bridgeport.

If I had to commute from Crowley to Bridgeport in a 99' Ford Windstar I would be drunk as well....probably high also!

You idiot, the man killed was headed to Bridgeport in a Kia! You must be from Chico.

Were Drugs or Alcohol involved?

Crowley to Bridgeport via Hurst?
Not much at multi-tasking me thinks.

Yeah, I totally misread that story so let me take another stab at it.

If I had to commute from the Metroplex to Bridgeport in a a Kia, I would hope to get killed by a wrong way drunk driver in a 99 Ford Windstar.

I am not from Chico, but I did stay at Holiday Inn Express last night.

Ummm...BG. The innocent guy that was killed was the one headed to Bridgeport to his construction job. The story doesn't say where the worthless drunk was headed when he ended the life of an innocent husband/father. Thank God his defense lawyer couldn't find a technicality to get him off on. You know the kind of technicality I'm talking about BG. Like a small error in a troopers report. Good job putting that drunk back on the street. Fortunately she hasn't killed anyone yet. Just got close.

Is 12 years enough for ending a life?

It's sure reflects poorly on our society when you can slaughter someone because you are drunk and you only get 12 years.

I got drunk and drove into a pasture and was gang raped by a herd of goats.

It reflects poorly on our society when you can drive on the wrong side of the road cause an accident that kills innocent people and walk with not so much as a slap on the wrist. It reflects poorly on our society that there are no laws to cover driving under the influence of prescription drugs or laws consistent through out the country that mandate blood draws on all fatality accidents yet we can force you to give it up on holidays? It reflects poorly on our society that people are on the roads with valid DL's after multiple DWI's, how many do we let them kill, it reflects poorly on society when you argue that sobriety check points violate your rights. It reflects poorly on our society when an illegal alien can obtain a valid Texas CDL with a fake Social Security card. It reflects poorly on our society when the accused have more right's than the victims. Today's law makers are more concerned about their own backsides, political correctness and the violation of a criminals rights. As long as there are little or no consequences for actions, there will continue to be actions because there are no consequences and innocent people will continue to die. Today's society has yet to figure that out.
