The pic doesn't even do it justice. I think this is going into bastrop from austin on 71. The smoke is probably 4 miles away. That would be the general area of bastrop state park and the pretty drive through the lost pines on 21.

I can tell you from being down there several days ago, fighting fires, that we have plenty of firefighters there. It's overwhelming, but we'll get it done. Been to Possum Kingdom a week ago, same thing. Plenty of firefighters, paid and volunteers, Federal and State. It just takes time to control these fires that were fanned by 35 MPH winds. My relief crew went to Houston this week, there are fires everywhere. This drought is unprecedented in our history, and you don't put them out in a day.
