Edit: Then a faithful reader sent me this one with the guy in the rain. I'll admit, even though this guy begs for a living, this is a little depressing.
I bet he makes tons of money just sitting there doing nothing...it's depressing to think ppl are actually fooled by this fool. Anyone who truly wants a job in this economy can get one...
Do you know the situation that man is in?????If you did you may stop to help him as well. He hasnt always begged. He has applied to several places, including our business. No one will hire a man at his age. Also, the mans wife is really sick. Have a heartt. God didnt put us here for that. Barry, I hope you can sleep at night. It amazes me the stuff that you post. One day your family, your wifes kids will find there way onto a blog and I am curious how you will respond. You wull answer to someone larger than us one day.....
reminds me of a wide receiver somersaulting into the end zone for a TD. If there was a professional beggars' channel, this guy would make the highlight reel
Has anyone ever offered him a job?? I am 60 and feel his pain, no longer physically able to perform my old trade but no experience as a janitor so I can't even get that job.
Last weekend there were two more younger bums asking for money at 51 and 287, and in front of Whataburger. The old guy was at the entrance of IGA. I wonder who pulled in the most money? Quite a while back, I gave a guy $20 and told him he could pull weeds behind my business. He never showed up. If these guys want to work, they can. But 9 out of 10 just want you to give them money. Oldest scam in the world. I'm all for helping people who need it, these guys don't need it, they expect it.
7:11, maybe you can tell everyone why you didn't hire him!
This guy refuses jobs when offered. A friend bought him a coat at Wal-Mart when he was out there in the cold. He put the coat in his car and went back out in the cold.
I completely agree with 7:11....though I certainly love a good laugh at others expense and am surely no Bible thumping do_gooder. it kind makes me sad for people to continue to trounce on someone who is obviously not 100%. Give it a break BG
He has permission from the people who own the property to be there. Decatur police can't do anything if he is on private property.
7:11 When you see him in other towns doing the same thing you kinda catch on that maybe it's a scam. But from the sounds of it you bought his story hook line and sinker.
I offered him a job to work with my other hoodrats, told him hours are not bad, he could still stand by the road offering himself to strangers driving by but I guess he thinks he's too good for the oldest job in the world.
This guy has been doing this for years now. I've seen him many times over the years in Decatur, Alvord, and Bowie. He sort of rotates around to different towns and stuff. That is his job. Chill ppl. He's a fake.
Some people have no shame so they can beg like that.I would have gave him an umbrella but it would cut down on his (pity me) look thereby lowering his income so i kept it for a rainy day.
Has anyone ever saw the midget that begged in Arlington? He kicked our car onetime because we were ignoring him. We went to Shreveport same week and seen him gambleling all that money that people gave him... He was also being rude there. The one thing I say about this is that if you give in good faith then you will be rewarded in heaven no matter what a scam artist those idiots are!!!!

Well, now getting lazy certainly isn't going to help his cause.
hes been camped out there for atleast a week
And a Hummer?
Will somebody please offer that man a job? Poor fella has been out of a job for a while now.
That's the guy who yells "Free Tex Watson!" I offered him a job cleaning graffiti, but he said he was working for God.
He needs a new sign. That one is getting a little worn and faded. It has seen a lot of use. And, maybe change the wording to "sit down" job.
Isn't there some compassionate liberal weenie that knows the meaning of PLEASE?

Now that's one determined feller, right there! Aint nobody offered him a job yet!?
Is this legal? If not, why does the Decatur Police Dept. do something about it?
He doesnt want a job my husband offered him one several years ago and he came with every excuse why he couldn't work.

saw him in Walmarts shortly after. He was drenched. His line of work has it's drawbacks.

Yeah, I've been seeing him more often lately, on 51 South in Decatur.
That is probably his Hummer parked in the background.
7:11 when you say "larger than us" do you mean like 'Rosie O'Donnell' large? or like Christie Alley large?
I have no pity for this crap. If he wanted a job, he could get one. He'd be perfect for a Walmart greeter or whatever. Lazy moocher.
He has a job, scamming the public! Has anyone seen what sort of vehicle he drives off in?
He has been offered a job several times and always turns them down with different excuses.(example;looking for an office job)
He is the biggest scammer in Decatur since the garage sale lady bandit!
