It's A PDS! A PDS!

I thought they were making the acronym up, but not according to Wikipedia:
PDS tornado watches are issued when there is a greater risk of multiple strong, violent or extremely violent tornadoes in the watch area (damage consisting of EF4 or EF5), in addition to significant wind and hail damage. While there is no hard criteria for a PDS watch to be issued, they are usually issued when the potential exists for a major tornado outbreak. They represent about 90% of PDS watches issued
Does Pete Delkus know about this?

I know they are trying to make sure folks are warned and prepared, but they are really also successful at scaring me to death! After seeing Joplin, I realize that we really do not have any place SAFE to go in a storm like that!

It's just so warm and moist out ahead of the line, plus the jet stream. Not a good situation. Expectations are for a bunch of Tuscaloosa-type cells around here. It's like sitting around wondering if you and a few hundred of your neighbors are the ones chosen to die horribly today. Scary.

If you live in an RV or mobile home, you need to stay somewhere else this evening and tonight. An EF2 or stronger tornado will litterally disentegrate these structures. 50% of people that die in tornadoes die in mobile homes, watching the mobile home disentegrate around them. Stay with family, stay with a friend, whatever you have to do - find somewhere safer to stay. And don't forget your pets.

So, is this why we have a truck from Channel 4 sitting on the hill by Yesterdays restaurant in Decatur?

Just heard TV crews are all over Decatur.

Looks like a hook echo with lots of cloud to ground lightening - possibly a rain wrapped tornado in the making.

Hey! Looking at the weather maps, it just donned on me.....I thought county seats were supposed to be in the middle of the county, so why isn't Bridgeport where the Wise County Courthouse is? How did Decatur get it? Doesn't seem fair. Reminds me of how Bowie keeps wanting to rule Montague County, but alas, they seem to always fail.

Never mind, I was looking at the towns surrounded by the warning box, duh. I just wanted to say something rude about Bowie anyway.

You may have donned a jacket, maybe even a nice one. Let's just hope it dawned on you to take it off when it got warm and moist in Bowie

Wanna be president of Montague Co when they secede from Texas? Or just ambassador to Oklahoma?

They had nothing to justify constant coverage early, so they went up to El Reno, Ok to look at weather...
