During the reading of Article II, Section I of the Constitution -- the clause that requires the president of the United States to be a "natural born citizen," an unidentified woman in the gallery screamed "Except Obama! Except Obama!" Politico's Marin Cogan adds that the woman yelled, "Help us, Jesus!" She was removed immediately. UPDATE: I'm told that the woman who made the disruption was Theresa Cao, a birther activist and supporter of court-martialed birther Lt. Col. Terry Lakin. On December 16, she told WorldNetDaily that she was "taking his message to the White House and Congress."

And following the reading of the constitution one million out of work citizens immediately had jobs.
Did anyone hear that woman on WBAP yesterday afternoon placing all the blame on the mortgage co/banks for people losing their homes during the mortgage crisis?

Those poor poor people! How dare those banking entities drug those innocent folks and tell them they better go out and buy themselves a big ole house they knew they couldn’t pay for.

Reading the Constitution is a stunt, and will likely make for a few awkward moments (that will live forever on YouTube.) But maybe the yahoos in Congress need to be reminded occasionally of the rules of the club they're in.

Did you ever hear Barney Frank say that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were in good shape and didn't need to be regulated even with the bad loans they were packaging and selling to the banks that were eventually bailed out by taxpayer money? You probably did but just ignored it.

In my opinion, if ANYONE has a problem with someone reading the Constitution of the United States, YOU my friend, are un-American.
It doesn't solve the problem to change WHO is gorging themselves at the public trough.
Having read the constitution isn't the problem, following it as in Bro Sessions is the tough part...or worse NOT reading into it something that isn't there.
We are doomed until our elected officials act for the greater good, not the special interest group that filled their coffers.

What's the big deal with Sessions violating the Constitution? According to the liberal weenies, it's over a hundred years old and therefore outdated. We have a muslim communist community organizer president born in Kenya that violates it everyday.

The Republicans are now in charge of the house. I’m a progressive Democrat but I can live with the new house if they get serious. They have pounced on the Obama Administration for the last year with the cry of JOBS! JOBS! JOBS!
This is Ironic because the economic collapse that is responsible for the loss of millions of jobs happened under the Bush Administration. But be that as it may I’m all for the new house getting us out of this hole. The first thing on the agenda was a reading of the constitution and a vote for repeal of the Health Care bill. I have a copy of the constitution on my desk at all times and an app. on my I-Phone that allows me to read it anytime. I hope the members of both houses of Congress have the same access to the constitution as I do.
The reading of the constitution on the house floor is merely an exercise in histrionics. The same can be said for the vote to repeal the Health Care Bill. It will take a majority of the House and Senate to get a bill repealing Health Care. This is a realistic possibility in the House but not so much in the Senate. But for the sake of argument let’s say it passes both houses and becomes a bill. It then goes to the President’s desk to be signed and become law. Ain’t gonna happen. Obama is not going to sign such a bill. Now it goes back to the congress for an over ride on a presidential veto. It will take a two thirds vote of approval in both houses to over ride the veto. Ain’t gonna happen.
I know this, Republicans know this, and everyone knows this. So what the new house has done is prove that we have a crop of exhibitionists (wasting the first week of the new congress on items that are pure smoke) in charge of the store.
I, as a Democrat, will get behind the new congress when they propose something of substance and stop wasting our time and money with exhibitionism.

1) House Majority Leader is backpeddling on saving $100 Billion THIS YEAR that they promised to save during the campaign;
2) The only bipartisan economic group,the Congessional Budget Office, says repealing the so called Obama Care will add to the deficit; New Speaker Bonher says "NO IT WON'T urges the House Republicans to ignore the CBO.
3) Today, first time filers for unemployment benefits went up. Seems all those temporary seasonal jobs are now out of season.
After all of this on the first day of the Idiots who voted to "take the country back", I hope they only take the economy back to another recession, not a full blown depression.

The Republican figure of $100 billion in cuts was unrealistic, considering Democrats will have already spent (at their historically-high levels) five months of the annual budget by the time Republicans have a chance to implement any savings. We'll see if they roll back spending to pre-stimulus, pre-bailout levels, which was the actual promise.
The CBO report includes unreal assumptions and disregards budget gimmicks, such as including ten years in income and only six years of spending. There's a pretty nifty refutation of the CBO report's claim here.
Are you really trying to somehow tie unemployment figures to the Republican majority on their first day?
Why don't we give the "idiots" a chance to see if they can do better than the disastrous Democrat-dominated 111th Congress. They can't do any worse.
its amazing that nobody remembers that bush had a dem congress the last two yrs of his term, he also tried to get regs past for fannie and freddy and it was rejected. i know the pres always get the blame and thats ok. but the housing crises started in the late nineties under the fair housing act. thank you barny frank.
