(And if you were watching CNN and Fox this afternoon, you heard both of them "confirm" that Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords had died.)
And in a strange twist, Giffords read "the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances" part of the Constitution this week.

Who would have thought? He was quiet and kept to himself. He had lost a lot of weight and even started making commercials for Subway sandwiches.

This IS the biggest reason to say our HEALTH CARE system sucks. This young man has struggled with mental illness for a very long time. And if any of you have had a mentally ill family member you know the process, lack of service and the emphasis on insurance does not serve Mentally Ill. What he did is deplorable. But the WV shooter, UT shooter, and many other suffer from mental illness. This IS not about left or right this is about Mental Illness. If you know about Mental Illness you will know that many Mental Ill Hospitals were closed in the Reagan years in response to a 60 minute show that showed the deplorable conditions patients suffered. After closure, it was said that local mental health outpatients facilities would be provided. In their "conservative" fashion no local mental health clinics were opened because they refused to provide the funds needed to open the clinics. Therefore we have mentally ill in prisons, homeless and those that function at a higher level....shooting and making crazy videos. Mental illness is real, and needs to be addressed.
For a people who are free, and who mean to remain so, a well-organized and armed militia is their best security.

Well here we go again. he Republican's have only been in majority of the house less than one week and thanks to the Tea Party Wing and their rhetoric, some radical right-wing antigovernment nut-job thinks it's open season on the Democrats and decides that includes anyone that is attending the gathering. If they controled all three branches, he would have prbably been a suicide bomber and taken out the entire parking lot. What's next, an assassination attempt on the President from the House floor during the State of the Union address?

3:13 The shooter is disturbed and does suffer from mental illness; but we don't know if the parents made attempts to get him help. He was kicked out of community college and made verbal threats saying he wanted to kill police.
Perhpaps out of this, the public can be protected from disturbed people who plan to kill. It doesn't appear there was a political motive behind the madness.
We need to know more about the family to see if it is the health care system or just no one taking responsiblity for a family member.
