Fatality At 287 and Business 287 South Of Decatur

Traffic is backed up big time (especially northbound.) But WBAP called it an "hour backup" which is, uh, very wrong.

Story.

And Channel 5's Tammy Dombeck wins the "I don't know those small towns" award as she took about 30 seconds this morning to talk about the wreck and pointed out the Saginaw cutoff in Tarrant County. She even warned people in Newark who would be heading into Fort Worth to look out for slow traffic.

To make the morning weirder, there were a series of about five fires on the east side of 287 about a mile away. If it was a controlled burn, someone forgot to tell the local fire departments.

I heard that, hell I live here and she had me confused.

On December 21 2012 there will be many uncontrolled fires.

I wonder how many people are going to have to be killed there before TxDOT puts in an overpass there.

You mean Tammy DUMbeck?

This is something very serious and everyone wants to be funny about a name. Someone has died in this accident which is very sad there needs to be more respect. The family of this person could be reading this also. Prayers go out to this family!!!!!

If someone in my family just died I wouldn't be reading this blog.

And still the comment from 10:58 still has to have a smart comment it's was a just in case there was family reading this. And if they wasn't there still should be respect for someones life being taken. Everybody post there business on facebook all the time about there family this is no difference.

I go down BIZ 287 every morning between 04:15 to 04:45 to 287S to Ft. Worth. I have NEVER seen any of the Sanford tanker trucks stop! I have seen in the last three years 10 or 15 near misses by this companys drivers. They will slow down at the first stop sign, then plow RIGHT THROUGH the 2nd just hoping to make it to the shoulder with out getting hit! Not even slowing down!!!

Uh Ohhh.....the Sandford Oil guy pulled out in front of the Dallas driver's truck. Not good. It's going to cost them big for this.

More info and names out are there now.

WBAP kept saying it was at Hwy. 380 and Hwy 287. They got it totally wrong.

11:30 are you Ron Washington?

11:30

The ISD from which you flunked out at the third grade level must be very proud of your linguistic skills.

anonymous 9:59 - You must be new! One of the chief services provided by Liberally Lean is so that people can make smart alec/irreverent comments. Think about it, M-F Barry posts all manner of "news" along with a photo of a scantily clad woman, there really is no chance that at some point a reader of LL is not going to throw down some crazy-talk.

Some of the craziest talk I have seen is when some commenter, publicly, claiming, on a blog, they are praying for the victim/topic of some unfortunate event. If you are going to pray for people, just hush and start praying.

Damn 11:30, that's the funniest crap I've ever read on here. I bet your folks were proud of you in school.

starting now.....

There are some very low people that post thing's on here. This is so sad.

Anonymous said...

Yes, but you still read it everyday, don't you?

Get back to the true cause of this accident...

if you KNOW that a four lane divided highway with posted speed limits of 70mph intersects with the first exit into a town that leads to two schools and downtown... and you have a history of multiple fatality accidents there, then you are a DUMB ASS to not make this a priority to get an overpass constructed.

Alvord has them, Sunset has them, Haslet has them, Rhome has them, Bowie has them... please tell me why this incredibly deadly and dangerous intersection that is highly traveled still does not have one.

No excuses.

We're all doomed.

feels a little bit dumber for reading the 11:30 comment.

also, it was not an accident, someone was careless and at fault...

Where was super cop Tom Bishop? thats part of his patrol beat he needs to get out there and slow them trucks down Oh I froget he needs a faster car to catch them. Tom get out there and play cop

Oh look, the at fault driver is from Rhome...go figure...

I am leary of all Sanford bobtail trucks, I've seen them roll through that stop sign many times before. I've also had one pass me headed back to their yard going 80+...

But I guess who in their right mind would be hauling fuel anyway...You have to have a death wish to do that, cause it damn sure doesn't pay that well...

Are you a sibling of 11:30?

Or maybe your mother and your father are siblings?

Next time you're talking to someone who got through the 8th grade, ask them what the use of an apostrophe signifies.

5:03

See above.

Bishop was at Hudsons trying to find someone to fix a flat;he sent him to Decatur tire.I don't know why people get so upset because a person takes his job serously.I guess because it never was.Ours in B'port was the same way.Same job both ways.
By the way my friend that could'nt find a job finally found one when his unemployment ran out the second time. What a deal.

11:39 and 5:51 Seriously, IF this is true then why haven't you called Sandford oil to tell them!!

(Don't worry I will do it FOR YOU tomorrow. Way more productive then gossiping...just saying:) )

We are supposed to watch out for each other ya know. That includes our local businesses:)

You know, why do you have to drag Tom Bishop into this? He is out doing his job which by the way is more than any other constable in this stupid county has ever done. The man does alot of good for very little pay...does alot out of the kindness of his own heart. If you are gonna talk all bad about Tom, then run for office and let's see if you can do half the job he is doing. You will probably be like all the other constables and sit on you a_ _ and just draw a pay check..you probably wouldn't care about all the drunk drivers who are out there taking lives..you would just let them continue instead of being the man that Tom Bishop is and doing something about it. Just leave the man alone you freaking idiot!

I would be thrilled to follow a tanker/18 wheeler traveling at 80 mph. At least, they aren't holding up traffic driving 40-45 mph on 60-70 mph roadways like all the other stupid truck drivers in this county.

Anonymous said...

9:27 - That you, Jean?

Anonymous said...

Ok just for the record NO ONE has ever seen a Sandford Oil truck go over 65 mph they all cut off at 65. FACT. And all of you that have complaints you should probably call theyre office and let the safetyman or dispatch know about it. If the people at Sandford Oil don't know whats going on how do you expect them to fix the problem. Thanks Have a great day!

Anonymous said...

You're right 4:35 it was a Western Transport bobtail...

Fact. I was going the speed limit (70) on 287 and I got passed...

Anonymous said...

hey 9:10 he was probably harassing a hispanic somewhere on 380.

Anonymous said...

This is the first job ol Tom has had playin cop that paid more than $1.00 so he works real hard at it. I guess thats why the county needs 2 more people to serve the papers that hard workin Tom is getting paid to do but he is to busy working traffic to Do.

Go serve them papers Tom!

Andy Griffin.

9:27 go tell that to Tom's daughter and see what she thinks about him.

I had a good time here but will return to google now.
