Got a report that one of the bigger hotels in Bridgeport is being shut down by the State today for failing to pay taxes.
And another is having electrical bill issues.

Well we know Best Western is dark so they have the electrical covered.. Don't think the Greystone Inn classifys as Bigger, so Comfort Inn or La Quinta.. Both were packed this morning so there will be some unhappy patrons.
Why would anyone build "large" hotels on 380 in Bridgeport and expect them to prosper in the first place?
The majority of people who travel 380 between Jacksboro and Decatur live in WC? And, hello, a minor amount of research would have shown that oil field workers are not a continous form of business.
Can't figure out why the City of Bridgeport has exclusive electricity services and at outrageous charges-no choice to choose a cheaper electric company if you are in the city limits. I know of 3 companies that have been forced to move to Decatur to get out of the high electrical bills that Bridgeport forces upon them. What a loss and this sounds like another victim!!
hotels were built not for travlers but for the booming oil business and end less supply of natural gas in the barnett. When you always have contractors in town it make sense to build hotels, but I digress.
As for the city well a tax is a tax and if you can not tax them without getting tossed then you just raise the electrical rate which is nothing more than a poor tax, because those who have the least insulated homes are the ones who can least afford to pay more.
There is an awful smell on that side! OMG, I recently noticed it myself! What the hell is that????? It was so funny when I mentioned it to the workers in the store I was in that day they didn't even notice it!!!! HAHAHAHAHA
the smell is from the shit factory behind the hospital, been there for years. when the wind blows from the south, you can smell it at the business centers on 51.
Decatur has many "pretty sides." Better than any other Wise County town. The downtown square beats lots of places in this county or many others. You jealous folk, really have problems, ya know?
Precinct 4 Commissioner seeks to purchase the Best Western at a super- inflated price to house his office and as a sub-court house for JP 4. The options are endless after we purchase this jewel like our other multi-million dollar restorations we have done. We will likely renovate well under 3 million and have a long lastin home for Precinct 4.
Bridgeport is trying to squeeze more money out of its utilities to pad the ol bank account to try to add more "recreational" areas and and fix the down town areas, and whats left over,is goin towards the Henson Hall of Fame and astro turf!!!!! We wanna be bigger than Decatur!!!!
Hey Barry, see you nixed my comment on the hospital in B'port giving them financial advice, since they don't pay their vendors. Looks like you might be a bit in denial because that's a fact. the public should know they can't even keep supplies because they don't pay their bills.
Funny, Bridgeport had the only % increase in the County for home sales. Decatur taxes to high and no where to build due to underground pipe lines and inflated prices.
We need a Taco Bueno and an outlet mall somewhere... Decatur, Bridgeport, got any ideas instead of bashing all the time.
Biggest bunch of wine bags with no solutions is all Wise County is good for and padding the government jobs.

Sounds like time for a good old fashioned banjo sing-along!

Best Western has a 'temporarily closed' sign on front door.
and how about the big ass hotel being built in Decatur
10:51 - and that hotel ruins the look of this side of Decatur.
Just ugly.
Don't know about ruining the look, but
maybe it will help the smell.
And just what part of Decatur is so attractive to the eye?
Decatur has a pretty side?
Rage
I hope it's not my favorite meeting place. I'll have some really mad Wise Co. wives on my hands if it is.

sewage, probably from a lift station
that isn't cycling often enough from lack of flow. there are remedies

And next on the commissioner court agenda:

Super triple fake Terry Ross
nothing in wise county is "pretty"....maybe pretty trashy, but thats about all.
Decatur smell?? What are you people talking about. Those of us who live here know for sure our crap does NOT stink.
Way too easy!
The courthouse is pretty creepy cool.
NOT SO WISE IN WISE COUNTY fits read his comment and you will understand, I do not think he is the brightest light in the house
Is Best Western a franchise?

I have it on good authority that the matter was resolved.

Surely it is because of the electrical bills in B'port..sky-high rates, no choice of service, etc., etc., etc..I sure miss the Wise Co CoOp..

...or maybe the hotel was just run poorly?
Yes.
y'all stop ragging on Decatur's high grade sewer system, they paid extra so it would not smell. hmmmm.
